Ok, still at abyssal blue, fed two pineapples to proc but didn't change to anything, got cut-scene and t stayed abyssal blue. What next to get it to ink blue? Other people got it by pineapples like I tried, should i try again?
Due to forum posting limits I can't help with coloring as much as I'd like, so visit me here: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/2168293/blog/1568406/ for my coloring "blog".
Rorichan and kgbrown247, your answers are there!

I don't know if that is true or not.
I originally fed my choco 4 plums from starting color(got the message) . He turned sylph green. Then I fed him 3 more plums (got message) and got Bone white (on the opposite side of the spectrum). I proceeded to go back and forth between Sylph green and bone white 3 additional times using nothing but plums. So at that point I don't think the fruit technically count because it would have not jumped back and forth like that while feeding it nothing but plums and getting the message every time. So when it turned Sylph for the last time I gave it 1 berry (got message) and it came out Celeste Green. So then fed it 8 berries (got the message) and got the final color of sky blue (the color I wanted).
Turquoise Green
21 Berries 10 Pears, in the order of 2 Berries then 1 Pear

Hello Everyone! just wanted to report my Final result!
Spent the entire first week of this trying to get soot black. then I discovered Ink Blue was my new goal.
Went all around! heres my last couple of feeds since i achived "Deepwood Green" the first time
Deepwood Green + (2 Valfruit. Proc on second) = Void Blue
Void Blue + (One Pinapple, Procced.) = Darkwood Green
Darkwood Green + (One Valfruit, Procced) = Currant Purple
Currant Purple + (Pear, Apple, Berry. one after the other 6 times, Every fruit Procced.) = Midnight Blue
Midnight Blue + (One Pineapple One Proc Message) = Ink Blue!
Final Result!: INK BLUE ♥
So glad to be finished, and have some knowlege on the matter so i can help my FC get darks and lights of choice ^_^ ty everyone this thread helped immensely!

I am not sure why you'd give him a pineapple. But from Dalamud to Rolanberry you need to feed it Berries.
If you're at Blood Red, I'd try giving it 1 feather proc of red and 2 feather procs of blue.
I am currently at Dalamud and chose to stay there. But many people have posted results of going from Dalamud to Rolanberry with only 1 Berry.
Ugh, marsh greenFed it the same thing as you did while currant purple.
Fed it one pineapple. Will report when im out of work.
My alts chocobo had rolanberry red (also going for black) Fed it 9 apples and 4 valfruits.
Will report in 6h

Someone had luck with Marsh Green.
"So from Marsh Green I got drunk and feed my choco 2berries each proced then 1 apple and it also proced to give me Ink Blue. I was then convinced by a friend to try and do Kobold Brown via 1 pineapple then try and get soot... I fed my Bucephalus who was Ink Blue 1 pineapple and it proced on the first feed and he became soot black. Thank you RNG? confused but happy since now my Bucephalus is the same color as Alexander the Greats horse Bucephalus! "
