Next relic update in 2.38.

Well I guess I wont be able to do the next upgrade since I will be stuck on trying to get novus due to materia being really expensive for a SMN, thanks SE.

Novus was my favorite part. Multiple ways to get alexandrite.

People puy too much emphasis on the secondaries. Yes 44crit 31 det is best for a lot of jobs. But if you don't have 15mil do ~25 Acc 25 crit 25 det. 14 mil cheaper and ACC never hurts especially with 2.4 on the horizon.

Atma, was a hell.
Animus, even more dreadful.
Novus, not that bad by comparison.

True, i cant be bothered to do the map hunts most of the time, but they're easy to come by and there's plenty of alternatives available for them (never did get an Alexandrite from a FATE though).
As far as implementations go, Novus is a breath of fresh air. No one is forcing you to buy the materia, but them being expensive is no excuse. Spiritbonding and selling what you dont need is more than enough to pay for it. Along with all the other hundreds of ways right now to obtain gil. You barely even have to do anything these days to get a nice steady income, opposed to the start of 2.0 where even the repair costs basicly nullified the amount of gil you made that day.

haven't started atma... refuse to start atma because it is a horrible system that should be burning at the stake...

You know, I think it has more to do with the fact the end game really doesn't work for a lot of people (end game setup not working as intended for intended audience), so all that's left for them is the atma grind. Otherwise it would be looked at as an optional challenge where people pat themselves on the back for getting as far as they do on it. At the same time, Yoshida seems to be noticing the problem, which is why the relic line is getting progressively easier. Whatever the cause, classic raid progression is not working for the new players, which I have some hypotheses about (and I've probably already hit on multiple points elsewhere).

I think you misunderstand. When endgame weapons are "the best" like Yoshi said, it means they are. The point that relics become better than High Allagan, is the point when there will be Third Coil Weapons, ie 2.4. Not 2.38.

I am getting to about 1/2 way done with NOVUS and am loving this step much more than the previous...there is at least a minimum time limit to how long it takes (75 days...assuming you have or can get all the materia you need for it) which I like...you can grind it out faster by buying the maps and getting lucky with FATE drops(which I have not...have not got one damn Alex to drop from a FATE yet). I hope that the next step does not do like the ATMA step and just change the iLv and make it stop glowing (that sucked!!!) If it is a prep step then let us keep our glow please. It better not be desynthing...I am only at like Level 30 and do not do it often.

SE already break one long time precedence they have put forth on secondary stats of items of the same IL when Novus was released. Every secondary stat of your gears have a "cost" and at each specified IL, due to this cost, you can only affix a certain combination of a certain amount to it (other than crafted gears that allows you to meld).

Novus, having the ability to go for 44 Crit and 31 Det have broken this long time stat cost rule.

It won't be a surprise that the upgrade in 2.38 will turn out to make it IL115.

this would make Novus BiS, better than coil since u get to pick the stats.
My guess is the appearance will change, to be honest I want different looks on novus, warrior relic is just horrendous lol.

oh no, it could be better for 1 week out of half a year...

ppl who havent cleared t9 until the last week pre 2.4 wont clear it before 2.4 and ppl who killed t9 are jealous about one person out of 100.000 who might have
a better weapon then they got 5 months ago, curse them all!

btw the stat caps on weapons are no written rule, they can handle it as they want to
