None in my opinion :/ This is a different world with a different lore and it would not feel right to me to have a zone from another game, sorry.

There just having a topic about a map that look like something from FFXI. Playing ffxi for 6years i would not mind having few maps somewhat looking like ffxi. FFXIV look 100% like FFXI in a way as it is Each city look and feel like ffxi.
Ul'dah mining "Bastok?"
Limsa fishing "Windurst"
woodcutting gridania "Sandy"
Then each city in ffxiv have more of a mix of ffxi city feel what i mean is all 3 city in FFXIV feel like a mix of all 3 city in ffxi. Like Gridania feel like sandy but also like windurst. Ul'dah feel like bastok but sandy.
And we have the same raceand lore? FFXIV lore talk about the far east? wow remind me a lot like FFXI. All 3 city fighting a war with beastman the only thing added on FFXIV lore is Empire but beside that there 3 city and 1 great city remind me a lot like FFXI.
So again i think they just want to see HD version of fav old maps in ffxi they could make it 100% new a fun but still somewhat look like ffxi and this i wish also it be fun to see.

Most FPS seem to have a New York somehow, yet its a different lore and storyline, so reusing areas isn't weird.
Funny how people want nothing from their successful MMO to show up in the game they're trying to save. My personal vote would Grand Palace of Hu`Xoi.

Because if I wanted to play FFXI, I'd play FFXI (considering how unimpressde I was with the game the first time around, that's not going to happen). I'd rather they go with fixing their original vision instead of playing up to the FFXI refugees who want FFXI with prettier graphics.

If I wanted to see an XI zone, I'd go play XI.

All I can say to people who say things along these lines is....

The FF series has lots and lots of background right?...
It was just a RPG for many years - at the same time literally creating hundreds of series staples for itself.
Most FFXI players who enjoyed that game and reference it a lot are usually asking for what ever theme/feeling they got right with XI to be added to XIV - something the series has always done well.
The fact XI was FFs first fore-ray into the MMO genre, means its pretty obvious and correct to reference it as and when one can concerning XIVs issues.
Stop simplifying things, thank you.

She dislikes XI, so it's useless explaining it to people like her. It's pretty obvious this topic isn't a request topic and when someone does reference XI they're generally talking about the basics since the basics XI used were basics found in not only MMOs but other FF games. It's sad, but honestly, when you make your previous Final Fantasy: Online encompass elements of older FF games, then make your next stray far away from it as possible but still make it a numbered entry, you did something wrong. All I can say to people who say things along these lines is....

Guess who also agrees that something went wrong with the original direction? Yep, the dev team, or did we selectively not read the interview? So it is pointless to explain what's obvious when someone clearly dislikes XI and everything about it yet hope that XIV survives.
I also lol'd at the "FFXI refugees", you do realize, those of you who dislike XI and everything about it, the game you hope stays "original" you're playing characters from XI with near background lore, yes?
I like XIV and hope it go on and becomes something great, but let's be real here people:
If it's ok to suggest stuff from WoW or Rift or TERA because it's "standards" it's perfectly ok to suggest stuff even if it's about the atmosphere from an MMORPG by the SAME company.

It's not simplifying. Some of us are just so tired of having to wade through post glorifying FFXI. Try finding a single thread in this forum with over 100 replies that doesn't have multiple FFXI references everywhere. Taking staples from the series is fine. I'll be more than happy to have Cid tune up my airship when they're implemented. But calling for complete remakes of FFXI zones is just absurd. The genre is moving forward, but FF isn't going to if they have to resort to rehashing the same material over and over. All I can say to people who say things along these lines is....

I'm pretty sure (at least I hope) everyone realizes that SE isn't going to recreate a carbon-copy of any zone from FFXI in XIV. The OP sets it out as a question of possibility, but I doubt even they think it would happen. It's not simplifying. Some of us are just so tired of having to wade through post glorifying FFXI. The discussion has pretty much turned to one of "what zones in FFXI would you like the "feel" of to be recreated in XIV?", as that's a more realistic expectation.
At the end of the day... It's a discussion. Relax.
Also, it seems a bit disingenuous for you to complain about "having to wade through posts glorifying FFXI", when the title of this particular thread made it very clear what it was about - with FFXI right in the subject. Yet, you clicked on the link to read it anyway. Further still, you've participated in the thread up to the 13th page.
If it bothers you so much to see people, heaven forbid, showing appreciation or nostalgia for a game that has apparently played a significant role in their lives... then don't read them. Skip over them. Read something else. Or just learn to accept it and stop making a tidal wave out of a tidal pool.
