I placed Valfruit seeds on the Broombush that I had growing before the patch, it gave me King Tomato seeds.

Do Thav Onions ever produce seeds, or is it just whatever's crossed with them?

Like for example Thav + Apricot = Sylkis
...but is it just on the Apricot harvest, or is this a 2way cross? Do Thavs ever 2way?

Sorry the reason I'm asking is because I was wondering if I used Shroud Soil on Thavn and got the 9 seeds instead of 1 seed on any crosses. I know you only get 1 Onion, but the chance to get seeds wouldn't be terrible. It would be a reason to actually use a decent soil.

I'm pretty sure you CAN get seeds from harvesting the onions. I have 4 onions that'll be ready in 5 days, and crossed with Prickly Pineapple. I am "expecting" to get Mimett Gourd seeds from them. My personal experience with Thav Onions and all the snacks is that they behave exactly like Krakka roots for crossbreeding. So you should be able plant your onions next to...say...Chamomile... to get a chance for Curiel root seeds. And that's probably the closest we can get to 'looping' with the onions.

Pearl Ginger + Thav Onion = Al Mhigan Mustard

Woe is me, to have already had pearl Ginger planted next to my onions, at the time I read this, and having just now harvested my 4 mustard seeds. Must decide whether to replant the mustard next to Onions (for science), or to plant something I know has a chance to give me more valuable seeds....... I choose SCIENCE!!!
Will report back in a few days with the (likely disappointing) result.

I had Valfruit planted with intercross, Star Anise under it with intercross and two Pineapples next to them with no intercross. I got the Eggplant Knight seeds.

On the subject of Thav onions to rank up your chocobo. It's been tested out today that it needs to be fed by you to actually raise the level cap of your chocobo.

Gave an onion to someone in the FC to feed it while I was a work after I logged in the morning to feed it, to reach capped exp, then take it out and kill 1 mob to reach the next rank.

So feed Onions yourselves!

That has been already mentioned several tiems here, even in this thread. It's also clearly described in both patch notes as well as in game in the Stables menu.

Tell me about it - my onion finished a day before the second set of intercross tests, the temptation to rip them all out and get on with chocobo dyes was so strong. Pixel Science is a harsh mistress ;;_;;

I've also seen some reports saying that
Thav.Onion + Jute = King Tomato
Thav.Onion + Pearl Roselle = King Tomato

As for the Coerthas Carrot cross, that still fits the notion that all of the krakka+stuff recipes to make sylkis and such work the same with thav.onions in the place of krakkas.
