How bad would it be to put acc on Smn Novus?

Heya, I was just wondering how bad of an idea it would be to put acc onto my sphere scroll for my Smn Novus weapon? I've been stacking crit and Det so far, but I'm starting to get close to needing Grade 4 of each and Grade 4 crit and det materia is a bit pricey on my server and so would take me a few months (if ever) to get the gil needed to buy all the grade 4 of each to have max crit and det on my Novus.

So acc on Smn Novus bad or ok? Anything that would be better other than max crit and det?

If Materia on your server is expensive and you want to complete it for Novus

Many peoples here also put ACC because they feel its too expensive, that's all, its not half bad if you want to complete Novus

But if you really serious ask my opinion, its wasted because you never need extra ACC from putting ACC Materia on Novus, you can optimize your ACC by gears alone

If you gonna put ACC on it just to complete Novus, I suggest you stop use Novus for good and go get Book of Spades instead, its better than Novus + ACC Materia unless you not bother doing Monster Hunt for Sands exchange or don't have group 2nd Coil Sands and UAS farming

I already have Book of Spades, honestly I don't know what I want to do with my Novus. I want it done, but I don't want to run the risk of making it inferior in the event they make the final form of the relic be the most powerful in the game and I borked it by having stats that suck on it. I want it done, but yet don't want to screw it up with future forms.

I'm putting accuracy on my Spharai and I doubt SMN is too different. Mostly I'm just used to having accuracy on my weapon anyway (normal stats are accuracy and skill speed) so I'd have an accuracy deficit without it and you can make up for the other stats on gear in exactly the same manner people tell you to make up for accuracy on gear. It makes absolutely no difference at all as long as your total accuracy doesn't exceed the cap (by much) and you don't have a lot of unwanted skill/ spell speed. Contrary to popular opinion, it's not very likely that max DET and CRIT is BiS for any class.

The only reason to do that is because that is the most potential damage you can put on the weapon without considering the contributions of armor at all. If you were seriously trying to min/max considering only i110 gear (no HA weapon and no consideration for future gear) it would probably be best to try to maximize the stats you want, minimize the ones you don't want, and end up very near but slightly under the accuracy cap from your armor. Then on your Novus meld exactly the amount of accuracy to take you to the cap and fill in the rest with crit/det.

EDIT: Similarly, you can take your accuracy to the accuracy cap minus food contribution so you'd be exactly capped in Coil with food. If you take it to the accuracy cap without food you can just use crit/det food now and accuracy food with the same gear when new content with a higher acc. cap is released.

You can also put ACC on your novus and then you don't have to worry about it on 1 or 2 pieces of gear, allowing you to optimize other stats.

Stats are stats, it doesn't matter at all where they are coming from. All that matters is what you do with them. Crit, SS, Det, Acc aren't any more potent on a weapon than they are on your pants or gloves.

The way i see it is your novus will keep getting upgraded are carried into new patches. So abit of acc really can't be the worst thing because it keeps your weapon viable(imho).

False. With the current available pieces of gear, you can have the difference between a full DET/CRT Novua and one with ACC at around a 0.5% difference in damage between both.

Meh, I have the book of spades....so I likely WILL put some +ACC on my novus. Mostly so I have one weapon that has a +ACC boost if I need it for content down the road. But also, as 'insurance' as we don't know what the next portion of the novus quest has in store....maybe that +ACC won't be a bad idea at all in the next part of the weapon process. It does seem like SE was trying to encourage a 3+ stat spread over focusing on only 2. So who knows really.

Lastly, depending on your server, it is more time saving, and just down right prudent to get the book of spades if you are going to avoid adding ACC all together. (Really the Novus and it's slight edge isn't worth the gil sink over the Book of Spades if all your planning on doing is maxing Det/Crit anyway)

With that in mind why not just wait? The best way to answer your question is really to look at how much you'll need it with i120+ gear.

Well normally I would wait, but I also have my Blm about to come up to the Animus -> Novus step and so I wanna try to finish my Smn Novus so I don't get clogged up trying to work on them both at once.
