The moon sounds interesting, for sure. Hey, even a ghost train type scenario sounds cool, but I can't say I see this happening.

I'm all for moon/outerspace/under the planets surface stuff. FF 4/5 are a great example of this. It was amazing to travel somewhere else, doesnt even need to be spaceship but a simple portal like in 5.
EDIT -> Oh isnt there something also already in the game about how we have two moons and one is getting bigger?

the doom train idea sounds really cool. sounds like a cool instance. but if this was to happen it would not happen for like other year or so. unless they thought and had this planed to do that. but who knows.

Yep exactly what i was thinking. They could easily just give a lore reason as to why certain methods of transport of forbidden or preferred in certain regions.
We know the Garlean Empire is pretty much a fascist state whose government likes to keep its citizens under its total control. It therefore stands to think that in order to maintain its control over the populace that the only type of transportation allowed to everyday citizens would be via land travel(I.E. trains) since they can establish and control checkpoints at various locations and following this reasoning, air and sea vessels are prohibited to all but the military.
And bam, there's your potential lore justification.
As for what they could use them for? Well the sky's the limit. Use your imagination for crying out loud.
As for Final Fantasy games that have had trains, who cares? Every one that had one had a cool +1 bonus.
I think if the City/Nation is huge enough, it'll be logical to have trains in it to move about quickly. I'm not sure how big The Garlean Empire is but, assuming its a big nation with magitek airships 15 years prior to the events of the game, it should be big enough to have trains to transport people around yes?

A train system would be awesome! with stations and random events on the trains.
I had another idea too, they could make these big yellow bird things that you can actualy ride on and you get this funny music playing when you ride them and they eat this kind of spinach stuff so they dont get fatigued.
Another idea I had is they could make these ships but instead of them moving though water they could make them fly though the clouds and we can ride them from city to city.

If they put a train in the game, I had better be able to suplex it!

Doom Train instance sounds like a lot of fun. Might be interesting as a non-instanced raid too. There would be a camping problem I'm sure so instanced would probably be best. I just thought it would be neat if the train passed you and you saw a group on it fighting through to the engine. Maybe toss them a heal or something lol. Which then becomes a link shell event where a group boards the train and healers/nukers line up along the route to help as the train passes, or from the back of your chocobo riding along side it while you can keep up.
Anyway that would likely be one massively exploited event. A Doom train instance still sounds like a lot of fun though.
hm, i dont think i want too much of FF4 & FF6 in this game.
Thats what made FF4 & 6 unique, but if it were other options id prolly like it.
Dimensional / future / past etc possibly (kinda like FFXI i guess)
Or even better space... hm nah idk, meh
I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...

Nowhere to run...
Nowhere to hide...
No escape for you...
