Mamook Pears - Avocados? For Birds??

So I wanted to ask about this, because I am rather aware that in the real world, avocados (alligator pears) are toxic to avians, as well as horses. The Mamook pear appears to be an alligator pear, and we're feeding it to this rather large bird, probably many adventurers in large quantity...

So I'm curious if this was discussed, or if it's even a thing in Eorzea? Do they realize the effects of alligator pears on birds? Or am I just overthinking it terribly?

Well, for one, they aren't actually avacados, and for two, this isn't earth. I'm gonna go with they aren't toxic, otherwise we'd have a lot of dead chocobos on our hands.

Avocados have grown slowly within their own vicinity or primarily with human help for thousands of years. However, its believed they were originally the diet ofground sloths and other large creatures, possibly including large birdss, and their hefty seed/core was designed to be able to withstand and pass through the digestive tract of these ground sloths and possibly the large birds. Its an archaic fruit that wasn't birthed by man, and had completely different dispersion methods in the Pleistocene (Possibly early Holocene). I'm not sure if the devs knew this, but a bird the size of chocos eating them pretty much makes sense if they are based on avocados.

Not sure what it was about this birds that made them able to eat the avos, maybe extreme size or developing alongside them.
