Glamours should not be in Unsynced Wolves Den

Before I start I should say I love glamours, pretty much everyone of my job is glamoured in some way or another, and I do not have a problem with glamours in most of the games current PvP, as the game syncs you done so the gear your wearing does not really matter.

However, in Wolves Den 4v4 without Level Sync it does, strategy and the way you go about fighting your opponents largely depends on what gear they are wearing. If you're a well PvP-geared DPS and you see a WHM in PvE gear you know what to do, that situation changes entirely if you see another well geared PvP healer.

Same goes with healing, if I see PvE geared dps/tanks the strategy I use will be entirely different than if I see people geared up into PvP stuff.

Again, only in the unsynced Wolves Den. Everywhere else is fine, but places where morale makes a difference, currently only that 1 Wolves Den, I think should not have glamours available.

Not like many people even do unsynced 4v4 anymore but you know

Primary i would say that you decide which you attack first depending on their class... mostly every party talks about their strategy which class to attack first in before.. you wont attack a warrior instead of BLM just because he has slightly lower equip... equipment is one indicator which comes right after. But on the other side.. if you see that healer xy heals like a rhino or a damage dealer damages like an elefant.. that you can see real quick who has the better equipment and switch over to the more dangerous one..

if i have the feeling that the healer heals that much that i almost cant kill him on my own.. i most likely try to sleep him and get onto the other one. thats about it.

i think its kind of lame that people just identify people because of their appearance.. needs more skill to identify them by their dmg output or defense during the fight.

    but still, its possible.

And well, same chances for everyone.. the other side does not know your equipment either.

If I see a monk in full pve gear and a healer in full pvp, I am going to attack the monk. I agree with the OP - allowing glamour in non-sync'd WD is a mistake.

I don't get why there isn't just a simple client-side "Ignore glamors" toggle, and then permit glamors everywhere as a result since the control is then in our hands.

meh imo u shouldn't know what your enemy is wearing nor killing them based solely on that. if u bump into them, notice they are insanely squishy and then decide to target them down, that is one thing but to kill them just because they have on a bathrobe takes away from the adrenaline rush imo. nor does it give ppl in so-so gear a fair chance. but that's just me.

Enemy side should not be able to see your glamour, however your allied side should. This is how it SHOULD be done.

Glamour in PvP has been a thing for far longer than FFXIV has. Whether it's a system that gives you vanity slots that override your actual gear, or Glamour like XIV and WoW, or the method SWTOR does, where you can take the mods from a high level piece of gear, and slot it into a look you like, hiding your power is a very important part of PvP. It's an art of deception, making sure that your opponents can't tell whether you are weak or strong. There's no reason to remove it, just because you feel it isn't "fair".
