I guess there's even less of a reason to spirit bond level 70 gear now? Not like those pieces of gear are cheap enough to spirit bond anyways.

Thanks SE. Now instead of spending another few weeks getting my novus, I can instead spend that time trying to find another way to make gil and buy materia that will inevitably be inflated to several times their current price because no one can spirit bond in dungeons.

Also, in case anyone was wondering why I converted that robe, it was just something I used a long time ago. Now that I have a daystar robe, and I can't sell it because it was bound to me, it was just sitting in my retainer.

• Overworld and sub 50 dungeons: Monster level = ilevel +1 to ilevel +10 (i.e. ilevel 27 equipment binds fastest to overworld monsters of level 28 to 37)
• CM/Preatorium: i40 to i49
• AK/WP: i45 to i54
• Copperbell HM/Haukke HM/Pharos: i50 to i59
• Brayflox HM/LCoA/Halatali HM: i60 to i69
• CT/Stone Vigil HM/Tamtara HM/Hullbreaker: i70 to i79
• BCoB: i80 to i89
• ST: i90 to i99
• SCoB: i100 to i109

You can still SB, and in fact you have more options for SBing than ever before. You just need to be smart about what you're SBing and where.

If I convert a gear piece of level 30 or higher, I am guaranteed at least grade II. If I convert a piece of level 45 or higher, I am guaranteed grade III or IV. Why in the name of Thal's week-old jock strap would you think it acceptable for an item with literally TWICE that minimum level for guaranteeing tier III still be able to give tier III materia?

Has anyone confirmed if spiritbonding within the 'preferred range' of an area's item level is actually faster than before, and if so, by how much? My understanding of reports is that it is about double the previous rate, but I'm unclear what the initial rates were.

If it is noticable, doing Urth's Gift in i49 would be a dramatically improved option over what it was already - important for both crafting IV's and Novus farming.

(I don't approve of the change to i70 gear, FWIW - that crap is too EXPENSIVE to not yield at least IV's.)

But here's the thing about that. Tier IV is the highest tier. If everything i70+ is guaranteed to yield a tier IV, the market will be flooded with tier IV, and there goes everyone's cash cow. Especially since now if you have the right gear in the the right place, SBing is faster than it used to be.
