Stop defending them by saying rift/wow/whatever other mmo had things planned before the release of their other content. So did SE.
They had to fix a bunch of other things, before they could go back to those things.
We all know they screwed up and released the game too soon, but c'mon, they are doing their best to get things right.
    Give them some credit.

As I've said before, it all depends on the workload. For example the UI team will be working on elements for all 3 systems, and if Materia enhances battle stats, clearly the people working on the materia system will be working with the battle team and vice versa.

There are separate teams, but in game development they all work together in the grand scheme of things -- It's not like the programmers has his completely own version of the game whereas the artist has their own version.

Every company plans things, but given the fact you're ignoring the obvious situation it seems you're not one to listen to reason.

Going off of this point, it's probably the lack of this cross team communication and working that may have led to the issues present in FFXIII and the flat out dismal release state of FFXIV in the first place.

In short, be glad they're taking their time, people. Go play other stuff in your pile of shame, and then come back to FFXIV later if it doesn't suit your fancy.

The worst bit about all of this

Is that we waited 5 months to get nothing substantial out of it. We waited 5 months just to wait another three for them to get anything done.

This patch doesn't make up for the 5 months of limbo. At this point, there is no difference between Tanaka's development and Yoshida's, aside from the fact that with Yoshida we didn't get anything done for FIVE long months. We waited so the big patches would be out FAST whenever they're ready. Instead we're left waiting just as long as before.

It's no hyperbole to say that if nothing improves and soon, this is a disaster. The whole management shakeup has resulted in no clear improvements at all. Even the iconic overhaul in 1.18 (AA) is a sidegrade at best, downgrade at worst.

Yoshida should address the issue ASAP. Give us an explanation. Show that the five months didn't go down the drain.

If patch 1.19 takes more than two months to come out, his plan has failed. What was the wait for if it still takes ages to get this shit out of the door?

Not sure you understood my point (I'm not good for being clear anyway). The UI team won't wait till Battle team has completely finished with auto-attack programming before starting to work on Materia UI. *>.>

I know people here who worked on Assasin's Creed and Ubisoft used all their divisions to create stuff parallely, like Singapour making the multi-player part and Québec making some environnements, while Montréal was busy making the core of the game.

They'll communicate and share their progress, they won't just work on one thing at the time.

Besides, it seems they had the basic 1.18 version live for a while there, judging by localization reps comment. Which probably helped them make good progress with 1.19 and 1.20 stuff.

Actually i don't mind this game, I also don't care how long the patches take cause its free. We are playing beta, i'm not hurt by paying the full price for the box and cds, thats the price you pay when you impulse buy. Hell they can take 6 months for all i care. But in the end, it doesn't hurt me/you/or any of the millions of ppl playing various mmos. It hurts SE.

What i don't care for are white knights making every excuse they can come up with. Or completely ignoring valid points and fueling the flames instead.

Or idiots telling ppl who have critisms or don't see this game through rose coloured glasses, tell other people to GTFO. Good luck with With your low population game with slow content/updates/expansions with your 25k pop.

LOL. Failed because you say so? Yoshida should give an explanation because you say so?

This post of yours is a rollercoaster of laughs.

Let's be serious, yoshida's team has improved the game quite a lot in the last few months, in small increments, but the improvement is very tangible.

1.18 is a very sizable patch, it introduces a lot of content and changes some mechanics quite radically.

To put it down simply, my friend, you're being delirious. But by all means, keep hatin.

I think is ridiculous to think they are even working on one thing at a time, im not sure but i just guessing that they are indeed working on all, but focus more on the serious notes first before revamping everything.

Since we ask for quicker patch update, they are working hard on this and is entirely almost impossible to give everything at once without having major bug in it.

So is safe to give one big update at a time then giving everything.
