    Question about soldiery, gearing suggestions

Right now I am at 745 soldiery and I am maxed out for this week. I was thinking about buying the soldiery body piece next week and using a sand on it to upgrade it. However, I am using the Allagan book right now. So should I continue to save my soldiery for the book of diamonds or buy the body piece next week? I am using crafted i90 body piece with crit materia in all five slots. I also just beat turn 6 so the turn 9 drop is far off. Any advice would be much appreciated!

The weapon thing kind of depends. I mean, going from i95 to i110 is a huge jump in Magic Damage, but the secondaries are just simply so god-awful on the soldiery book it's offputting... Also, seeing as you're still getting your Daystar armour as we speak - all of which BiS - I would just vote for buying the armour. The i95 Allagan book is good enough for T9 and you also have the possibility of getting a i100 Ramuh book which has great stats to it (40 CRIT), or even getting an Animus/Novus.

T9 is not that hard to heal - it has more of a survivability component to it, too, so going for Daystar that is BiS doesn't waste you any weeks worth of soldiery tomes. However, if you have nothing else you'd like to dump 3 weeks worth of soldiery into (ie. the weapon's 1300 soldiery) and also assume you'll have obtained a full set of Daystar before beating T9 - then go for it. Personally, I'd go for the i95 book/Ramuh book/Animus/Novus -route while getting your BiS Daystar armour pieces.

I don't really have soldiery to waste and your point makes a lot sense. I worry that if I buy the book I would regret it and wished I got the body piece instead! Thanks!!

Yeah, keep up the soldiery gear purchases and do hunts to upgrade them. The left side gear are all BiS for SCH. That'll help in boosting your MND and Crit. regardless of weapon. The T5 book is fine and if the Animus/Novus grind is too much farming Ramuh is the easy route for a good book. Like Tranquil said, the Law of Levin (Ramuh book) is great, and definitely a nice filler until you can get the T9 drop.

If you haven't already, join a hunting linkshell. un-weathering all of the daystar gear on the left side is going to skyrocket your stats.

Sure blowing all lustrate on claws is definitely easy eh? anyway OP, remember 1 weapon damage is always equal to approximately 8 points of main stat of the said job which means upgrading ur Allagan Book to Book of Diamonds will give an increase of (42-34) x 8 = 64 MND

1300 soldiery is a lot to spend on a book with poor secondaries that you might not even waste a sand to upgrade. I'd follow the suggestion of making sure to get your Daystar pieces first, with the possible exception of the gloves, which you can replace with Scylla's if you want to maximize crit.

I haven't bought anything yet, I know upgrading to book of diamonds would be huge stat increase, but is it better than buying the body this week? The next chance I would buy the pants. I also have sands for both at this point. I am using the scylla's gloves too atm. My main concern is going in the proper buy order. Thank you all for the great feedback. I will most likely decide today or tomorrow so keep the feedback coming it does help.

If you have to blow all Lustrates on claws, something is wrong with you, your co-healer or the tank. Going from a i95 to i110 book won't rectify this. I'd rather be concerned about making it through P4 Meteor Streams/DBs on a first kill.

OP, I would go for the chest and the pants, no questions asked.

Not meaning to hijack the thread x.x but I have a related-ish question on the soldiery gear/weathered daystar (that may or may not be a stupid question):

I have the full Cleric set, but would it be worth it to get the weathered daystar robe for WHM as interim better gear, while waiting for a trial/dungeon/raid drops (and actually managing to obtain gear via rolling) on better gear than the cleric robe? Or should that robe really only be used for SCH and I'm better off tossing soldiery allagans elsewhere/saving them? I rarely see these on WHMs, so I don't know if people are skipping it, not a good idea or just not needing it for one reason or another...

i'd say absolutely Daystar robes are worth getting. My Scholar and eventually WHM will be happy when they finally get upgraded from myth gear to Soldiery. I pulled the ST healing robe last week, and that's a good robe right there, but if i'd had the soldiery to spare (saving for weathered BLM weapon) i'd of gone daystar no question/
