    No one is going to give up an actual useful stat slot for resistance, unless someone was trying to be a special snowflake. Untill they give them their own slots they will forever be useless.

    They could go the AQ/Naxx40 route and tune content in such a way that it forces people to stack resistance in some way. Killing Sapphiron in naxx was difficult without some frost resistance gear (there was even an achievement for killing sapphiron with everyone in the raid having below a certain amount of frost resist).

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
