I don't know what game you're talking about but if you think they've ever added content that serves no purpose in this game... then that's laughable.

What does fishing serve outside of being able to do more fishing? You hit level 50 fishing and just put it away for ever or do more fishing. Fishing serves no other purpose, it even is a poor way to make gil.

The sightseeing log, less than 2000 peopel world wide have completed it. Seems widely popular to me....... /sarcasm off

Have you been playing after 2.3? You can get several glamour pieces from fish desynth.

None of those materials are exclusive to fishing. Fishing still sucks pretty hard.

Fishing is just one example.

What about daily mark bills? Those seem worthless to me. How many Ramuh EX parties do you see in PF? I don't see many if any at all. SE releases content all the time that is DoA

Not materials. Actual glamour pieces. And they are fishing only as far as I know.

Also, in response to the OP, I don't think summoners want this huge game-breaking experience like you describe. It sounds more to me like they want a pet job similar to ffix's summoner, where the summon was actually a decent size, looked like their larger counterparts, and did better attacks/more damage. One similar complaint I've seen is that they're mostly DoT attackers, which is also very different from previous iterations of summoner. They're just looking for a more final fantasy-esque type of summoner, but not necessarily one that requires a 10 minute intro video a la KotR.

I take it you dont like fishing. fair enough. Thank you for your opinion. I don't see why, since you find it pointless, it should be removed from the game. Yes I'm putting words in your mouth but if you think it is so pointless, like the sightseeing, why should it stay?

It was mentioned that the FC can summon the primal everywhere, not only in the open world. Like a win-button the FC can use once.

Thats what i recall too. It could even be used in Coil or in PvP.
