Still has nothing to do with the issue of extreme RNG blocking relic progression. If I finish this relic -> atma -> novus line it will be my 4th i110 weapon, so it isn't like I'm not doing other stuff. An element of the game is fundamentally flawedTouche, I was fortunate. My suggestion wasn't intended as a "this will get your content down quicker" as much as it was "this will make it less frustrating in the long run".
Same thing for me at work. If I'm having a difficult time on one project, I move to another for a while.
Project A isn't getting anywhere. But I'm able to keep my chin up because project B is going somewhere, and it keeps me in a good mood until I heard back to my initial project.
I do hope you get your drops soon, either way!
And a census of a few dozen people is more reflective than a group of multiple thousand people managing to do it just fine? Just sayin'.
My idea was in addition to the RNG, also to be able to purchase an ATMA for 50k or 100k GC seals. (They would have to raise GC seal limit of course). Its not like you wouldn't have been grinding something to get all those seals.
That or just make it so there is some sort of visible progression to obtaining ATMA for people who are truly unlucky with the current RNG. There's nothing worse than playing for "X" amount of hours and have nothing to show for it.
Even if they took out the RNG and changed it to every 100 Fates in the zone you obtain an ATMA. Then at least I would know the quest will take the same amount of commitment for every player.
Its not fair that some might complete the quest in 250 fates and others do over 3k and have nothing to show for it. Not that the game has to be fair. =P
I think you missed the point of my post. Even if everyone on xivpads had their atma(they don't) that would be only 38k people out of several hundred thousand, but that wasn't my point either, the type of player who would participate in a census of that kind, as well as the type of player that would complain about atma on a forums, are the vast minority of the players playing the game. Hell, this is the official forums and there are less than 100k topics total across all 4 languages

0.1%, so 1 atma worth
Right, the vast majority would just silently stop playing when they become frustrated enough with the system and not say anything.I think you missed the point of my post. I wish, humans are much too stubborn to do something as sensible as that. Most people will just keep trying until they get it no matter how frustrated they get.
The only thing that really bothers me about atma is all the idiots who think their anecdotes about getting all 12 in a week are the rule of the land and everyone else is just complaining.
Oh, that and people writing "ATMA" for no reason whatsoever. Where did they even get that from? It's not in the game.
