    Super Choco Dungeon Exploration!

Basically just a way to get new life out of old dungeon maps.

You cue WITH your chocobo, and the mobs are similar but different. The focus becomes more on exploration... perhaps you find pieces of choco barding/rider's attire, that you can take to an NPC to repair and make whole.

For example... traveling through Amdapor Keep, you'll have different areas that will let you click and hear of the history of the place. Maybe an NPC follows you and talks story with you, but random bits of the story unfold each time you go in.

For instance, perhaps a statue you stop at and the NPC tells you about the Ruler of Amdapor Keep always searching for greater power, but unleashed Diabolos instead... or perhaps some cult to that primalish dreamlord.

The entire dungeon would be less about spamming for myth and more like console RPG sorta stuff. Perhaps during this dungeons your Chocobos gain a considerable Buff to enhance their "Role" whether it be DPS, Tank, or Healer.

Fights would have to have almost no mechanics for this to work, since Healer chocobo will stay near you no matter what, and the other modes of chocobo will stay at the spot where they started hitting the enemy unless you get a certain distance away.

This sounds so cute, and fun to do with your Chocobo I am not sure how fights will work out
but hey, I'd like to have more things to do with ol' Chocobo.

Or we could stop with instancing everything the game has to offer and make areas like Amdapor open world and not be thrown away the next patch.

If you want this to even be looked at by SE you have to add a massive time sink to the suggestion, they will ignore all suggestions that don't come with a 2+ months time sink.

Weren't the instances added to help with PS3 limitations? (and to lower the min specs required for PC)

It's pretty much just a matter of how smart they want the Chocobo to be. Other games have managed to program companions smart enough to avoid AoE or directed cone attacks. Even a Move To command would be handy.

Ya, I liked how GW had their companions. Semi smart, and would actually place themselves in a smart configuration. Healers would be semi back, Ranged would be farther back, melee in the front, with whatever your role was being the basis. Really, chocobo should be like the Heros were, based on companions, but with additional controls due to their skills also being editable (like choco)

Right now, chocobos are horrid. Wont move on its own, meaning if its a healer its going to die since whatevers attacking is going after you.

I have no idea what your Chocobo is doing, but mine follows the target and will only back off it the target is under the effects of Bind. Then again I only use Free Stance or Follow.

Exactly. As Defensive or Attacking it will go for the target, Healing (the thing I mentioned) it will sit beside you.
