Problem with English client when they see Capital English letter from JP client user

Here is the picture of the problem :
    http://img807.imageshack.us/img807/1...0717002033.jpg

Note: when JP client user uses certain English capital letter, it cut the next character to appear in the next line to Eng client user.

This happen very often, some people think that JP like to do this on purpose, but because I have friends on JP side too, and learn that it is buy they never know it exist. This apparently to be something visible on ENG client only. and the cause must be JP client...

So this bug is related to both Eng (receiver) and JP client (maker).

Please take check into it as soon as possible, because so many Eng client users misunderstand JP client users by thinking that they do the bug on purpose. Thank you.

Thank you for reporting this again!

First off, let me apologize on behalf of the whole FFXIV team for making everyone have to wait so long on this. I realize the mysterious line-breaking Japanese has been an issue for quite a while, and was just as stumped as you as to why it hadn't been squashed. So, I decided to take a trip around the office to try an find out if anything was being done to alleviate the problem. As it turns out, the UI team is working on a fix as we speak and they hope to have some good news for you soon. I'll keep you guys updated on all further developments.

Thank the Twelve! This is something that's really been bothering me a lot since beta, even. I thought the Japanese players had some sort of secret linebreak character that we didn't have access to, haha.

Thanks for looking into this, Fernehalwes! Huge relief knowing it's being fixed as we speak.

I'm not sure if this information will be of any use, but I'd like to add that you don't have to be using the Japanese client to cause this error to occur. I live in the US, have the NA version of the game, and chose English on install. Everything is in English. However, I play in a Japanese LS, and I type messages to them in Japanese using the standard Japanese IME that you can enable in any copy of Windows. (Once enabled, you can switch to it in game by pressing Alt-Shift on any US keyboard. Then press Alt-~ to switch between romaji and kana inputs.) Anyway, on several occasions I myself have typed messages that triggered this bug.

The first time I did it I thought everyone could see it, so I made a comment about how strange the text looked. Naturally, I got a lot of "Um...wha?" in response. I think they worried that their resident foreigner might be smoking something.

By the way, as a final note, thank you very very VERY much for making it possible to type in Japanese even while using the English client! This is really a life saver for me, and I am thankful for it every time I log in. Also, thank you for allowing the game's language to be selected upon install. It's a wonderful and very consumer-friendly feature! If the PS3 version ends up having these features as well I will offer you my firstborn in gratitude. Don't tell my wife, though.

It's a problem with how the FF14 client selects points to wraparound text. Japanese doesn't really use alot of spaces... ^^; so it seems to choose to wordwrap at the english words/numbers unless the shouter splits the shout to multiple lines or is sharp enough to add a space in their text.
the shouts aren't so bad if you have your text window stretched wide enough.

You actually install all of the languages. You can switch between client languages in the config.

This is very handy information to know. I thought it was a way some JP called for /shouts I'll try and make sure my friends and other LS members know its not intentional.
