Coming from FFXI I excepted Summoner to have a range of different pets and other things to summon. When I found out there are only three I looked confused. Does anyone know if there is a chance their will add more pets down the line?

When the level cap increases we will see new pets. Leviathan then Ramuh then Shiva are planned down the line
Basically what NintenPyjak64 said. We will get more as time goes by. The reason we only had three at the start is, I assume, because there were really only three Primal's we had to face, and the lore behind the Summoner class states that to summon an Egi, said soul needs to have defeated the Primal in battle.
Yes, there will be more
Thanks for the info.
I would like to see better summoner pets, not just more small, floating, gas clouds that faintly resemble a bad ass primal. They need to be bigger and do more. The summoner class thus far is a re-skinned warlock from WoW. I have only just begun playing and I am displeased with how the summoner and black mage have been done. Where are the impressive summons for big damage or other effects? Where are the signature spells like Ultima, Pearl, Meteor, X Zone, etc.. !?
Ultima is in the game, a certain story boss uses it.
Pearl is Holy, which is a White Mage spell. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/H...nal_Fantasy_VI
Meteor is the caster lvl 3 limit break.
X-Zone would difficult to make work in an MMO. Maybe as a boss ability.
