[Suggestion] Add delay before pop-up duty finder window receives buttons/mouse-clicks

Here's the problem---let's say I queue for duty finder as a bard and while I wait for the duty finder to "pop", I switch to botanist and spend the next 15 minutes chopping down trees. Then as I'm just about to press the circle button on my controller (perhaps to get out of a menu), the duty finder window appears...

... and interprets my button press as "canceling" the window and it withdraws me from duty. I imagine the same thing could happen if I were clicking the screen with a mouse and the duty finder magically appeared underneath the cursor and interpreted the mouse-click.

This has happened to me many times...

A fairly simple fix would be to make it so that when the duty finder window pops-up, there's a short delay (2 seconds?) before it become the default window. Perhaps this delay could be negated by mouse or controller actions (much the way that the "away from keyboard" status is removed).

I have asked for a fix for this too. I've canceled the DF pop several times myself while crafting during my wait.

i don't understand how that withdraws you from the duty. it just puts the commencement window in the background. just click there in your quest list the Duty Finder and it will bring back up the commencement window.

Yeah, closing that window with Esc/Cancel or the X in the upper right doesn't withdraw you. I do that all the time, and just pop it back open and hit Commence. IIRC, in addition to opening it through the duty list, you can open the duty finder window and there's a View Status button that does the same thing when you're in queue.

10 posts per page is only the default setting; it is bad, and you should feel bad if you haven't changed it.

Just gotta hit Select till the Duty Finder option in the duty list is selected then you can re-open it.

Sounds good to me, sometimes I've hit the ready button as the queue pops when I'm trying to finish something up, and I'm whisked away from what I was doing before it's completed. Something like how ready checks currently work, where the default action is hold, where it simply hides the queue window so you don't accidentally hit ready or withdraw, and you can pull it up again once you are ready to rock.

I heard this happening to many people who use controller. It's not just the window is hidden. It actually take "confirmation" button (being pressed for other purpose) as hitting cancel (withdraw) button instead.

This is a common type of problem whenever a new pop-up suddenly takes keyboard and controller focus away from something else you were doing at the time. It can inadvertently cancel (or accept, depending on which key you were pressing at the time) trades, teleports, DF instances, and probably a number of other things, when the player had no intention of making that answer.

I'd go a step further and say it shouldn't get focus until/unless the player explicitly moves focus to that window. It can pop up as visible on-screen, but it should only be activated (or dismissed) by player action.

Why aren't there UI animations to indicate that a window has been hidden? Otherwise it's all to easy to assume the window has closed?
