they wanted to do hard mode and ex primals more attractive
thats how they did it and its a good choice imo, they never had to implement weapons like that or find a way to make these trials more attractive, but they did
be happy about that

SE doesn't get it. Hence why you can get iLvl 90 gear from hunts for pennies, but iLvl 70 gear (useful only as glamour) is 50x more expensive. Hence why vanity items from fishing are almost impossible to get. Hence why the glamour system in general favors the rich and can't even be used until you have a level 50 character anyway.
SE doesn't understand the concept of accessibility.
try to do the current event...

Here on Odin, it would cost about 11.77M to make the Munificent Moggle Mogtome, which I'd never consider to use by itself, only for vanity. Those weapons are a bit over the top...
SE: "Look at all these shinies, aren't they neat? Nope, you can't have them!"
This takes the concept of conspicuous consumption to a whole new level lol. Showing off a hard-won Garuda bow is so last year... I'm only faulting the system here and not anyone who chooses to simply go along with it to get something the only way how- but nothing says 'I'm #1!' like sporting a weapon that announces "I rolled Need on several primal weapons I already had so I could throw them in the woodchipper to get this one, and glamour it onto my ilvl 110 bow I got thanks to 'hunts'." Lore-wise, I think those swirls and sparkles are perhaps formed by the final weapon's channelling the collective disappointment of every person who rolled for one of the desynthed weapons that got tossed into the big grinder and came out the other end as nothing more than sawdust, as casualties in the process of successfully desynthing the ones that actually gave up the needed materials.
primae weapons were useless, primae drops at all were useless, they gave them a meaning
see it was achievment reward for killing hm and ex primals 200 times and not as "must have" item for every casual player

On top of everything else, the weapons will quickly become outdated. i95 is quite usable right now for an alt class but by v2.4, there will likely be i120, i130 and i135 weapons. It would be nice for them to reduce the material cost of these weapons with easier recipes, and increase the chances of desynthing a primal weapon producing the unique demimateria. At the current difficulty, these weapons are so rare that they aren't even a status symbol of an elite few, rather most of them are entirely non-existent.
its vanity, its never outdated

Cause if everything would be super easy to get it wouldn't actually be a unique thing to have anymore. Sure, it's annoying. But at least you'll be special when you DO manage to make it.
