They seem to follow the trend of the short/mini yukata. Why it's also that short for men when that has never been the style for men, I have no idea lol.

I think so far the only armor I've seen with animated sleeves is the Divine Harvest/Divine Death robes. It's possible the new yukatas were made before sleeve movement was tested (almost as if right now they're testing sleeves with movement with those 2 robes) or they just didn't want to bother since the original yukatas from 1.X probably didn't have moving sleeves.

Because they do exist for men..? While I agree it's not AS short, but they definitely do have short styles...remember, with XIV ARR they're going more for 'universal' designs when it comes to everything armor and animation wise at least. So they didn't really want to design 'medium length' ones specific for men as that would actually take some dev time

Ikr, it would take too much work to extend the skirt for guys to the knees. XD At this rate they should have just given us girls the yukatas and given guys jinbeis. My friend that I did the event with wouldn't even wear his yukata shorts because they were so short. lol

They were always (since 2012) short for men.

I used the ":P" to keep my post light-hearted, so I didn't come off as being serious and correcting you sternly like it was a big deal. I'm sorry it came off that I was teasing you, though genuinely I didn't mean to poke fun or tease you, I just wanted to be informative without coming off haughtily. So, again, I apologize if my post came off as teasing you. I realize the information I was giving isn't super common, so I thought the ":P" would prevent me from coming off as "Omg you should know this *dramatic eye roll.*"

I meant in the real world. In the real world a man would generally not wear a yukata that short. Generally for something short men would just wear jinbei, and even then jinbeis traditionally end around the knee.
