is funny people jumping so far when it took them 1 full year to release only 3 PATCHES and no inmediate date for the expansion so knowing their weak development skills it will take another year before we see the expansion or even 3-4 months before we see 2.4 . even ffxi have updates monthly dunno why they taking so freaking long updating the game with content. really.

    Let's get weird.

    Tank-

Puppetmaster - They use their pet/automaton as less gimpy Titan-Egi, and most of the character's abilities focus on maintenance of the magitek "puppet" with the wide range of pet-skills generating hate. They can "overdrive" it for increased damage/hate at the expense of it taking more damage. Excels at group hate management. Would provide a completely unexpected and original type of tank that healers feel comfortable playing, could provide Gridania with its tank (guild could Be Garlond Ironworks) and would be a really neat type of class.

Main Weapon - Automata Modules (varies the stats and appearance of the automata)
    Offhand - Mechanic's Wrenches

    Main Stats -
Int and Dex (I said I was getting weird, here, but doesn't it make sense an intelligent and dexterous person would be a better mechanic?)
    Skill Speed (faster repairs)

    Player skills -
Contact - Calls the Automata to the battlefield.
Cost: All TP - Cast Time: 6 seconds
Overdrive - Increases damage output and enmity generation. Inflicts slow on Automata for 6 seconds once effect wears off.
    Cost: 120 TP - Duration: 18 Seconds - Cool down: 60 seconds
Maintain - Regenerates 20% of Automata's health over 10 seconds.
Cost: 80 TP - Cast: Instant - Cool down: 60 seconds
Augment - Increases automata's maximum HP by 25% and restores 25% of automata's HP.
    Cost: 120 TP - Cast: 2 seconds - Cool down: 120 seconds - Duration: 25 seconds
Break - Deals blunt damage with a potency of 50
    Cost: 60 TP
Shatter - Deals blunt damage with a potency of 70 (Combo: 110 potency following Break. Has a chance that the next Hotwire will cast instantly and for free, regardless of cool down remaining)
    Cost: 70 TP
Hotwire - Doubles the damage dealt by automata's next action
    Cost: 180 TP - Cast Time: 4 seconds - Cool down - 30 seconds
Scald - Deals astral damage with a potency of 100 (Chance to inflict burn DoT with a potency of 60, lasting 15 seconds)
Cost: 70 TP - Cast Time: Instant - Cool Down - 10 seconds
Rend - Deals blunt damage with a potency of 30 (Potency to 180 if target has Burn)
Cost: 40 TP - Cast Time: Instant - Cool Down - 5 seconds

...and some others. Basically a tool wielding semi-DPS whose main concern is making their Automata hit hard and keep hate while keeping it alive and juggling the pros and cons of their buffs.

I'll figure up pet actions if you guys want. But it would be a neat little change to tanking that would breathe some fun and life into the role.

Would branch from MRD and ARC, possibly? Or PGL and ACN?
Musketeer and Arcanist, perhaps? Sticking with the Gridania tank concept it would be a little odd, but I can't think of a combo that makes sense otherwise.

I'd like to see class/jobs never seen in FF series or popular MMOs before. Maybe a sentinel job stemming from a bodyguard or guardian class or similar. Have some sort of bladed heavy shield(s) for weapon/defense. Then for healer have a simple medic/doctor job stemming from a nurse class using scientific means for healing rather than magic; i.e. bandages and medicines. Their weapons could be medical tools like a scalpel or their medicine bags like the bags in FFT.

I'd like to see DNC as a healer. I liked healing w/ DNC in FFXI. I think you could make a case for DNC in FFXIV. They would likely be a melee healer, which means they will have to dodge more point blank AOEs, but that is somewhat counterbalanced with the fact that moving doesn't interrupt their spells like SCH or WHM.

For tanks, I'd love to see Beastmaster as a viable tank, or puppetmaster. A pet class as a tank would be really fun.

Pugeslist-Wrestler it already has afew cooldowns for defense, give ti afew more buffs and it should work out.
Lancer-Templar, not as easily setup but a spear/shield tank might work.

The ratio could be adjusted, say a 10x usage for 1 potion. And I think it would definitely affect the market boards, in favor of a Alchemist way to make potions. They need love too.

    PUP.

Sidebar: what I DO NOT WANT is a ff job wrenched so harshly into the wow mold that it doesn't resemble the original job in any way. Like for exampe THF without steal makes no sense to exist as we have PLENTY of generic dps classes already.

GOOD NEWS there's no thief class.

I don't see the point, really. How is adding any new class going to help end game out? It will certainly add something else to the leveling experience, but once end game hits, it will just be another meat shield and spam healer. If they fix the lackluster combat, then I'd love to see new classes. Otherwise they're just giving themselves more stuff to have to fix up in the long haul.

This is a real hard answer since this game can't really have much different types of tanks or healers with the push for trinity only jobs/classes.

Warriors had their own special mechanics, but were clearly not best mitigation tanks so complained and got given more mitigation for some of its mechanics' strength.
Will this new mechanic tank do exactly the same? If its an evasion tank it means it will get even harder when it does get hit. This will mean the crying for same thing as Warriors.

With the Healer they could do some kind of battle healer such as a dancer. Sad thing is its hard to imagine since DNC could heal well in FFXI but was a supporting role and with the current pure focus on trinity it can't happen unless everyone is equal in all forms.
A battle healer cant work because it can't have high DPS and still be a main healer. It would be imbalanced one way or another.

Now in the future when the Supporting role is added, it can bring huge possibilities.
