    B.) FFXI did it. It's called Rune Fencer. I dunno if they've fixed it since SoA release, but it was kinda crummy. I even leveled it to 99 and it still seemed kinda bad to me.

    To be fair, many SE ideas aren't well thought out as to how it will affect the balance of the game, either. Examples: Hunts, Frontlines, Player Housing, Chocobo Raising, and that's just in this last patch.

    Truth be told, many player ideas actually ARE better thought-out than what SE has been handing us lately.

    Half of those are also well-thought out systems that exist in other games which SE ignored and instead did their own "version" of them - even ignoring THEIR OWN PREVIOUS GAMES.

    Like... XI's housing that was great. XI's ZNM system that was great.

    Frontlines isn't so bad because they actually did just copy Rift, but the implementation of the queue was horrendous. In fact, the implementation of the queue across the board is horrendous - more lessons they could learn from other games' growing pains.

    Soooo, try again. Player's didn't ask for NMs that could be zerged in 5 seconds by a server horde and reward with end-game items to a select few tanks that can top the enmity meters like it's raining skittles. That's just what SE's interpretation, ignoring all of the things we told them we liked and that worked.

    Are you serious? They fixed the queue issue fairly quick as well and it's not bad at all to get in. Sure, they had an issue that they didn't expect because the human element is hard to predict tbh, you have to give them that.

    I believe we did... but you may not have.
    We asked for NM's - check.
    We asked for open world content - check.
    We asked for alternatives to running the same old speed runs for tomestones - check.
    We asked for something shiny - check.

    This is probably why I don't hold your arguments with much value. I've partaken in the development of smaller MMOs before and most people lack the ability to comprehend MMOs especially to the level that FF14 ARR has taken it too.

    If your statement was true, that there are many other MMOS with such features and that they are balanced and viable, we wouldn't be seeing a huge amount of players renewing their subscriptions after trying these other MMOs.

    The reading comprehension is strong with this one. I don't recall anyone asking for

    1. NMs that are zerged by the entire server, of which only a few might get a reward for.
    2. Same as above. In fact, one of the number one complaints about XI were ground kings. Why did they do it again?
    3. Hunts to obsolete all other content. Hunts are NOT an "alternative path" - their rewards are so high that they are now the "preferred" path.

    You might want to rethink your response, or at least read my post before responding to it. You can't blame "player ideas" for SE's inability to implement a system. Read some of the posts players have written about how to add jobs, how to balance abilities, and how to implement new content, and then compare those thoughts to this last patch or to systems that SE *actually* gave us while ignoring all feedback. The gaps are pretty large.

    It actually sounds like you have never played other mmos, much less developed them. So, I guess we will agree to disagree that this last patch was a win. Lot of broken things that didn't have to happen if there had been a simple test server, or if SE would have taken into account feedback over the years. *shrugs*.
