    Blacklisting in Instances

Is there absolutely no way to do this?

I only ask because the amount of spam-y messages and verbal abuse that I've seen in Syrcus Tower has gotten absolutely ridiculous. From Tanks spamming macros 7-15 times in a row (each one with a sound effect!) in alliance chat for the big boss moves, to some very unpleasant exchanges in alliance chat, I'm surprised there is no way to block someone, even if it's just in the instance.

I understand that instances are cross-server, but could at least be a temporary filter of sorts, especially in raids where you cannot vote kick somebody for harassment if they're on a different alliance. And yes, I'm talking about legitimate verbal harassment of people on my alliance. It leaves absolutely no solution except to leave the instance and take a 30 minute penalty, or just try and get through it and hope it doesn't get worse.

I also understand I can just switch to another chat. I don't want to do that either, since I'll miss out on communication between part members and the alliances. If I wanted to completely isolate myself from the chat then I wouldn't have joined a raid. I don't know whether that would block the sound effect macros either, which I've seen becoming more common as people become more impatient with the tower. I wouldn't mind blocking the walls of ascii art that people have been putting in the alliance chat either.

They definitely could add a cross-server blacklist system, after all... Blizzard has a way to add friends cross-server and allow them to message you on your server when they're on another server. All they need to do is invent a unique ID system for each character, or make characters account-based.

Id rather had a spammy boss mechanic reminder , than the alliance wiping because of "first time" or wasn't "paying attention"

Honestly, what you're asking for sounds more like a temporary mute button...

Honestly, cross-server blacklisting definitely needs to be a thing.

There have been many complaints about harassment and rude players who keep coming back and no form of accountability for being, well, a d-bag. Being able to blacklist people on other servers, not having to hear them, and being prevented from grouping with them in the future would be a huge boon.

An In-Dungeon mute could work. Cross Server Blacklist could present problems with DF matchmaking unless they chose not to prevent you from being matched with someone on your BL. It would be a lot of work for the DF matchmaking server to cross reference everyone's blacklists while building parties. Bit kick outside alliance just has too much room for abuse unless it requires a majority in both the initiating alliance AND the third and even that is sketchy once we can queue more than 8 people.

They don't even need to invent anything.

I think that the reluctance is more to do with Japanese social behavior versus anywhere else in the world. They just don't have the same level of abuse and trolling that goes on in other places, even by their younger generation. We are just especially big jack hats to one another for some reason, but SE doesn't really see it.

Pretty much. I don't have an issue with people spamming their sound effect macros or their ascii art besides the irritation. It would be nice to be able to block that out and actually focus on the fight at hand. The big thing really is that there's no way to deal with a problem player from another alliance besides hoping their party takes care of them (which never seems to happen.) A mute button would pretty much fix the problem.
