    While I like such idea in priciple with any feature like that there will be space for missuse - players pairing on purpose with lowlevel characters to be able to spiritbond or train their chocobos or fullfill various challenge log entries easier / faster etc. If you really want to help / play with newbie friends why not use another class or even make an alt? I know you'd loose some benefits in case of alts (like mounts and gear and so on) but might be still better option than tagging around "bored" in your shiny 100+ iLVL gear instakiling any mob you might trip over ...

    Eh. People FATE grind all the time for all of those reasons. I don't see any of those reasons valid enough for dismissing this idea.

    Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean here, but I don't see why that would be a bad thing. You may be helping your friends and other newbies, but you're still getting something out of it. To me it seems like that would be an even better incentive to play with new players. Maybe even give a BOOST to the things you mentioned if you're helping someone who has the little green sprout icon next to their name.

    Seems to me it'd be a situation where everyone would win.

    @HEC-

    Any level 45~50 can take out a lvl 20 mob even if they were under ilvl 100+ I'd think. :x

    Also Spirit binding is done in the field anyways. Fates, South Shroud at Urth's Gift and unfortunately.... also inside Dungeons. Which a lot of players actually made threads of complains about already. While I personally don't have an opinion on the last SB method myself as long as it's not something crazy like lvl 1 gear in a lvl 50 dgn, I think this would just give another option for Spirit Binds which I personally don't see as a bad thing (It doesn't need to be faster, it could just be another method for it.)

    Chocobos at just rank 6 need 490k Exp, It would not that easily gained from mobs at lvl 10~20 if there was a system like this and as long as they gained it as normally as they do in fates I really don't see an issue.

    Challenge log isn't too hard to finish if a player actually tries to finish it. It's one of those things that is based around if the player actually wants to do it though.

    But I will say.... none of these things were thought of when I came around to this idea either though.

    I can't make an alt because I am an entry player and my friends are lvl 10 atm btw. I could wait till they are lvl 15 and use my lvl 20 pug. But I think it'd be nice to have a system like this because it'd be a lot of fun to maybe level with a person you just happened to meet one day who is a few lvls lower than you or a friend who just started off with all classes unopened but 1 class.

    I'm not bored, I can still help in other ways but I'd like to join in their adventure and play with them / experience stuff with them without being as overpowered.
