If we take away middle east, africa, russia and eastern europe countries. Whats the rest of Europe like in numbers? And from those take away all the spanish players from Europe and you have something very close to the Latin American market. And still no Spanish Client? lol.
that is like comparing every single country south of the US to like a half of Europe. :/ and even then they would probably still have more. its region based. stop being so nit picky about it.

Why? Well no I'm not a racist don't get me wrong because I have many Brazilian friends. Just because the dialect would be so different that most words just stop making sense. The same it Spanish, even in Spain from what I'm told they have different dialects on the north and south. And it's all the same country. Hope you guys understand. Even my English(writing) is not that good. Lol
Actually, your English writing is better than a lot of the people on this forum that grew up speaking English. And you bring up a good point. I have a friend who lived in Argentina for a couple years, and then tried to speak with people from other Spanish speaking countries, and and found that it's a completely different dialect of Spanish. They use different slang, use different words for different things, and have a nearly incomprehensible accent to even neighboring Spanish speaking countries.

The key thing is that while certain accents can be unintelligible, two average Spanish-speakers will understand each other with no problem. For example, take a redneck from the South of USA and put him up against a Cromarty fisherman from Scotland and they will have a tough time understanding each other - but that kind of exchange is not remotely typical of the English-speaking world. Americans, Britons, Aussies, Canadians and Kiwis can communicate without serious issue. Same with Spanish. Though the voseo is popular in Argentina, they know how to use the tu form. Though vosotros is used in Spain, they understand what ustedes means when a Latin American uses it. Sure, there are quite a few slang expressions that are more popular in certain countries, but those phrases aren't going to appear in FFXIV.

My guess is that if they ever did a Spanish localization it would be peninsular Spanish as that's what they've done before.

so yeah, the money just isnt there to make it worth while. :/

another thing i found is alot of the money is in brazil, which doesnt speak Spanish :/
I'm confused. This chart doesn't say how many customers in the market speak Spanish. It only lists Regions. A person's place of residence doesn't determine what language they speak. Spanish speakers are spread all over the world. I'm not implying that new data centers be made, i'm speaking strictly about the auto-translator. Yes it wouldn't be perfect but it would help poke holes in the language barrier.

I'm glad someone brought this up. This is basically what I would love to see happen. Yes some dialects and slang will be a bit different but all forms of Spanish are basically still Spanish. Context can fill in more language holes then one might think

Why not just do a fan translation? Lots of non localized games like monster hunter frontier are not in English but the fans themselves translated the text.

Basically just like a fan made mod.
Sorry this just now caught my eye. It's possible to use Google Translate to do this but the whole copy and paste thing gets old fast. I have made some good friends in this game who mainly only speak Spanish. And yes this is a big part of why I made this thread /blush

He was not talking about google translate but actual fan made patches.
Look at how phantasy star online 2 does it atm. Nearly the whole game is translated into english by fans.
