Had to bring in Warlock somehow. If anything Arcanist should have stayed the trap user it was in 1.0.The thing about Carbuncle is that it wasn't until XI that he grew teeth and a backbone. He's always been this support entity in older titles, what with the party-wide reflect and whatnot. I feel like arcanist/Scholar got mixed up with their summons. Arcanists should have gotten 1.0-style sprites as their summon and Scholar should have indeed gotten Carbuncle. Instead, it's... largely the other way around.
Sorry guys your at your abillity cap, no class gets any more/less.
because it's only fair that way right?

What?... While I never played early 1.#, I did play around 1.18~ and there was no arcanist then. Or warlock. Or trap user. So I don't know what reference you are making here. When I mentioned sprites I meant these...

Tanaka gave us the general idea on what Arcanist was going to be and that the mechanical staves they have "is the biggest hint" (which was the only vague part.) The rest a lot of people got from data mining the data that already existed ontop of what Uriager or w/e his name is used when he was telling us about Dalamud (the abilities were tagged arcanist) - Basically arcanist was still in a primitive state ready to be release after the first major update of the new year.
I know what you were talking about, I say Warlock because that's what SMN is - So they had to bring that style of gameplay somehow![]()

thing is, that is explainable on SMN. you don't have to do the lv45 SMN quest at lv45 so you still have Emerald Carbuncle till you face and beat Garuda-Egi (which you have to have faced and beaten Garuda Primal story mode to do)
on SCH this would not be explainable since it changes out both Summon & Summon 2
