No man, nothing is going to happen. The moon is still 350000 Km away. And thats just too damn far to do anything.Top of that this month the moon going to be very close to earth which the last time that happen was 18YEARS ago this could = flood on some area of usa. This could be signs that earth may end 2012 if we don't take this for real and do something don't matter if it may or not happen better be save then sorry. I hope the moon wont do much DMG this up coming days.

Very sorry to hear about that disaster. Hope everyone there is able to get past it as quickly as possible.
And to that guy with the tinfoil hat... Earthquakes are a result of tectonic plate activity, not lunar, solar or cosmic influences. Yes they can be deadly, and the threat of them and other such disasters should be taken very seriously, but making things up doesn't help anyone, and in fact, it can actual cause a lot of harm... Say for a moment, everyone were to believe you about the close approach of the moon on it's elliptical orbit meaning a heightened level of danger from quakes and etc. Well, continuing that line of logic, at it's most distant range, we'd be safest... Which would be an excuse used by people to neglect preparations.. "Oh look, moons far off today, let's give emergency rescue and response teams the week off." So as you can see, arguing that line of thinking is pretty much detrimental aside from being ignorant.
http://www.skepdic.com/fullmoon.htmlMisconceptions about such things as the moon's effect on tides have contributed to lunar mythology. Many people seem to think that since the moon affects the ocean's tides, it must be so powerful that it affects the human body as well. The lunar force is actually a very weak tidal force. A mother holding her child "will exert 12 million times as much tidal force on her child as the moon" (Kelly et al., 1996: 25). Astronomer George O. Abell claims that a mosquito would exert more gravitational pull on your arm than the moon would (Abell 1979). Despite these physical facts, there is still widespread belief that the moon can cause earthquakes.* It doesn't; nor does the sun, which exerts much less tidal force on the earth than the moon.
I mean really now, a "supermoon"? 2012 nonsense?... Can't we approach anything rationally these days? I'm sure the last thing anyone affected by that earthquake wants to hear about is that 2012 bit. There's been countless doomsday claims to come and go, and they'll be countless more from 2013 onward. And frankly, 2012 is far from the most convincing one, it's just the next one that hasn't come and gone. Again, spreading myths like that is still dangerous though... Watch, come 2012, a bunch of people are going to go looting, drinking poison kool-aid, panicking, and etc., and then nothing will happen... How exactly is that better safe than sorry?
If you want to actually contribute, donate to whatever group is spearheading the relief efforts in the affected areas in the coming days. Earthquakes can do monumental amounts of structural damage, and put a lot of people in a bad place simultaneously, which further exhausts finite resources. Natural disasters inflict damage that is often a huge headache to deal with at best, and utterly devastating at worst. More donations are never wasted on effected areas.
And again, I hope for the best for everyone who has been effected by that quake.

Titan is disappointed by FFXIV

this is not the time or the place for your views, you can start that topic elsewhere. be respectful no one is asking about your opinions on earthquakes or what not. You started it as a off topic conversation in "this" thread. You want to talk about it fine no problem do it in a appropriate thread.listen to me shut up about the tinfoil hat shit i'm just saying better be save then sorry -.- if you don't like my point of view then don't read or quote me just think that my post is not there. Stay safe everyone!

Those that were effected by the earthquake and tsunami and those that may yet to have experienced it (hopefully won't - Hawaii and the majority of the west coast) are in my thoughts. Hang in there!!
