I just hope they add a little more complexity and engagement down the line. This oversimplification isn't all that, well, fun.
And step back from all the cheesy glowy crap a bit.

I have a lot more to say, but y'all have heard it all before.

You know, I actually really like that. Relying on knowing where things actually are, NPCs telling you the name of the location instead of just marking your map, having to communicate with people to find out information.

How about on Titan Extreme, tell me how you discovered how to handle the superbomb
I didn't have to tell the other healer what to do lol.
Let me ask you this, those people who make the videos? Who told them what to do? Also Who told the first people that ever cleared it what to do? /rolleyes
Instead of staring at your keyboard look at the screen and pay attention to whats going on and follow what others are doing.

    Really....?
I know that the adoulin missions have proper descriptions now, although it's not anywhere close to quest markers.

must have been funny in ye olde days. it launched before youtube and wikipedia-clones were a thing, so I guess hearsay and forums were all you got.

Funny how this existed before and after FFXI. What exactly...was your first MMORPG?

Yeah, that was what I was thinking myself. More like Final Fantasy Tactics only in real time.

We have instances that require a back up tank and tank trade offs. We also have instance that require dps to refocus their attention on adds or the group wipes. Honestly the whole point of a tank is to absorb damage and keep the monster attention on them. Like healers, if you can add a little extra dps good but that shouldn't be your prime focus.
Damage dealers as of right now mostly take advantage of teamwork as opposed to contributing to it because of how their role is set up. The idea here is to increase the importance of positioning and crowd-control mechanics and lower the need for tanking.

Some monsters detect by sound. The same kind of rapid aggro increase could happen if a black mage is doing his incantations too close to an intelligent bat monster. For those fights, if melee damage dealers are involved, all attacking party members may need to juggle threat and use stuns. Again, the idea is to involve all party members in how aggro is managed. In addition, if they add spells like "sneak", which lower the chance of being detected by sound, their would be at least three ways to tackle said bat demon: Have all melee combatants aggro juggle/stun, have all ranged keep their distance while the tank handles things, or have some unspecified class with access to the sneak spell cast sneak on melee dps and handle it that way. It also creates a reason for spells like "sneak" and "invisibility" to be brought back, which also create some interesting options for the open world.

Also, it opens the possibility of defeating an encounter by avoiding it. A concept generally left unrewarded and unrefined in MMORPG combat.

I know what's about to happen and how to approach it.
Right now the problem isn't people growing bored of old content as much as the end game content being an overbloated memorization fest. It's scaring new players away. Skill at teamwork and class proficiency are secondary at best during those kinds of fights.

BUT mmos I've played that I enjoyed and they don't require dodge; Aion, Rappelz, Iris online, WoW, Archeage, and Guildwars 2 just to name a FEW.
I asked that after I asked my original question actually. But considering your penchant for disregarding facts, I'm hardly surprised you'd claim otherwise.

I understand you were talking about coil because of difficulty but that's just ONE dungeon, I'm talking about the entire game. ONE dungeon can not save/make up the entire game. You do realize that right? Not to mention that's a weekly ran dungeon you can't even keep running plus I don't feel like it's as hard as people claim it to be.
It's nine dungeons actually, but thanks for admitting you have no idea what you're talking about.
Like someone else said earlier people have multiple chars. I stated before I was gone for awhile and game back. Dude to me not knowing my log in information and square enix providing NO help. I made this char, I've been playing this game since early release. That's why you shouldn't assume things with out asking. ._.
My heart bleeds for you, really.
You don't answer my questions because you can't. Also you don't think that's lop sided? You want me to answer you questions but you can't answer mine lmfao GTFO. I've played this game and it's all dodge rather you agree with that or not and it's boring.
Right, I can now assume you've never done pharos, amdapor township, Haukke hm, copperbell hm, stone vigil hm, hullbreaker isle, tam tara hm, pretty much any of the 50 dungeons, and a a good bit before that with Aurum Vale, Cutter's Cry, Sunken Temple, copperbell mines, stone vigil, darkhold, etc... and all that is without even touching the extreme primals.

All of those have encounters with mechanics more complicated than "don't stand in the fire." I'm starting to wonder if we're actually playing the same game.

Either way I'm done with you, go throw a fit and make sure to get the last word in, maybe someone else will pay attention to you.

    Le sigh.

It's technically ONE raid broken down into 9 parts because I guess they can't handle big dungeons? But it's just ONE raid.

I've done all of those. I've done everything except the new coil because I'm not motivated too because it's just more dodge antics. All those dungeons have basic "Don't stand in the yellow" mechanics. Because dodge is the CORE mechanic.

I'm throwing a fit because I said one dungeon doesn't make up for the entire game yet you keep vomiting out coil? It's like basic comprehensions is above you. Also, I named the games for you, whats the next step? lol

That's like saying The airship levels in Mario Bros 3 makes Mario a challenging game just because of 1 level while ignoring that the rest of the game(s) are generally easy beyond reason. Yes, coil has "difficulty", but its team jump rope difficulty..which realistically isn't difficulty at all.
