See, here's the thing; all these "toxic" and horrible players are irrelevant. Why should it matter that some random nobody from the Internet is having a bad day? If it really bothers people that much, designate one person in a linkshell/FC to monitor shouts for relevant stuff and have everyone else turn them off.
The actual problem seems to be that people seem to be placing their self worth on the opinions of strangers. People just need to chill and take these ragers as what they are, entertainment. Like anything else on the Internet (and in the real world), things only have the relevance that you, personally, give them.
Having an opinion does not make you right or wrong, it simply means you have an opinion. Don't get irritated when people don't agree.
First it was atma. Now its hunts. Later its going to perhaps be coil finally finishing its tiers? I dont mean to offend anyone considering some things in the game could use an improvement. But this community complains about everything.
It's something endemic to the Internet. If you give people a soapbox to stand on with and no real guidelines they default to complaining how unfair everything is and how everyone else should think like they do.
Having an opinion does not make you right or wrong, it simply means you have an opinion. Don't get irritated when people don't agree.
This is true of all communities on the Internet everywhere. But I respect Squenix for sticking to their guns and not knee-jerk nerfing or buffing content because of a minority of whiners on the official forums. In that regard they already know how Blizzard does it, which is look at the official forums and have a laugh and go get some lunch.

Echo wasn't knee-jerk. It was part of their planned obsolescence structure for content, because there was no way in hell top-tier raiders who spent months on the content would've ever come back to help anyone below them on the clear-progression ladder when equivalent rewards could just be bought with myth.
Whether obsoleting that content was an appropriate move or whether Echo was even, frankly, effective at its job is another discussion that belongs in another thread.
video games are bad
recently a thread was create about the fact that reset was against rule, and while reading it i have notice something extremely.... shocking.
the fact to reset a monster that someone fight it's griefing and can be reported. this one it's clear and no reason to talk more of it. but someone did point something that did give me more trouble with the hunt (believe me i did fight since the start for make it change in many way) the fact that if someone find the mark, call and wait. if someone pull before this person, indeed it's not against the rule, "first comes first serves".
but this is too griefing in a way... i means this person was first to find it and did decide to wait for more to..."enjoy it" (sorry i don't find anything enjoyable in zerg activity and anybody finding fun really need to take sometimes for think a bit, it's not different than bullying in group. what they do enjoy it's the feeling of instant-gratification) and someone come and simply destroy him pleasure of game...
this feature, was added when it was clear as water that it was not adapted to the current population of the game. soo little prey for so many player per server... sorry this but only an incompetent can think one second that it will be good.
not enough that the feature destroy most balance of the game, it's to slowly destroying the little bond in the community left, worst it's easy to make this activity against the rules... how is possible to not see this? it's beyond that SE didn't see it coming with past of FF14, the FATE-Zerg, the speedrun, the number of trouble inside the community...
they need to have a test server with player from around the world for test the feature (and we don't talk of the raid or story, but only feature like hunt, relic quest) placing a heavy NDA and make sure to know before it come out if it will not create this sort of situation.
SE must never ever redo this sort of error that was in 2.2 and 2.3, they really need to get away from the easy added grind tactics they follow recently before redo the same trouble than the V1...
B rank spawns too little for the amount of people doing them, you cannot even be solo and get credit for B rank when everyone runs to do them.
Hunts need to scale like FATEs scale.
