In Ragnarok the Elemental IVs are worth like 15k ish gil.

You need 600k gil for assassin IV, so yea, lets guess after 40h of nonstop farming you will get 1! Materia, luckily you fail when trying to add in scroll, so lets say 80h of farming...
but only if they buy it, sometimes you need to wait days untill someone bought yours.

I made it myself by wanting to be a mostly crit build. I love crit and love seeing 1.8k Festers and Enkindles happening fairly often. This is how I want to build my character which is why I said "my BiS" rather then calling it the absolute best, but by the end of the day, it's really the Weapon Damage and the Intelligence (and accuracy) that matters more then anything

Ya i really do like the amount of crit and just enough acc to do turn 9. I may try that build once i get the allgan book that and the earring with the legs and i have th build done all turn 9 items

Farming materia is really impractical with RNG.
I just corner markets. Shards in particular.
For a few weeks, I had the price of fire shards almost quadrupled.
Was making 300% outright profit for literally nothing.

Materias, however, are a harder commodity to manipulate because of the RNG nature.
Though I do need to look into it. Insane profit potential.

If SMN runs out of MP there is something wrong in the group.

Or they're in T8 where there's no "breaks" for MP like the other fights. I'm always starving for MP in that fight after maybe 7-8 minutes (heavy guesstimation) and we're practically at the end anyways. The point of Ruin 2 is to force the GCD so you can properly weave oGCD abilities. It's practically a DPS gain if you use it right

Plus the fact that people arguing about such a low gain of secondary stats (when compared to the above) are rarely the best race (which gives better primary stats, which are obviously much better than secondary) for the job.

Seriously, having a bit of accuracy will allow for a bit more flexibility in gearing strategies when new gear is introduced. Going full out Crit/Det isn't a bad strategy, but going Crit/Det/Acc is equally sound.

The first half of your statement makes me just stagger I'd gladly take a few less into to not look like a pretentious arse in every pose/cast/breath I take as an elezen. Yes I tried it and the DPS increase was... well not even noticeable.

Besides, one could make an argument that not having that extra bit makes you work harder to compensate and overcome that as best as one can. Leading the extra int to almost be a crutch possibly (oh boy here comes da flames ).

When I play SMN, if it's not T7, I'm going all out. I'm using ALL the tools at my disposal. Ruin 2 before every oGCD ability (Fester, Rouse, Spur, Enkindle), Miasma 2 + HQ Potent Poison Potions before every Contagion, HQ Elixirs; If I have to use Energy Drain even once I know my DPS is going to drop, it's one less Fester and a loss to sustained DPS.

Imo, if it's worth doing it's worth overdoing. If your bard plays songs on set intervals (including Ballad into the mix) then your MP isn't going to tank, Our designated song Bard doesn't, he cares more about his own DPS and only plays Paeon at set intervals. Me and the healers (if they have to raise our BLM and MNK constantly) have to beg for Ballad practically.

There's no "other rotation" when I'm already using everything given to me to keep my DPS high for the sake of the group.

If I would think your way I would not even start doing atmas because you either get an atma or nothing at all.

Why not just spiritbound for the money? And you will get money even if you had an unlucky pick.
Also when I said I go spiritbound equipment I didn't mean 1 equipment.
I only keep my mains weapon and a meteor ring equiped everything else is ilvl49 white gear to convert.
So that's 9 items in that 1h of spiritbonding and only if you're dead unlucky you'll only see elementals otherwise you'll get interesting stuff.

I'll leave it at that, just wanted to share my opinion on using materia iv for novus which I find to be the way to go.
