I just don't see the point of adding that sort of gear for women if men don't get the same treatment otherwise it would just be sexist. Current male gear is so sexless. Even subligar looks like you're wearing a flat tire on yourself.

Here we have a case of "fitting in with the world aesthetic" though. Spira is relatively tropical in many places, and being that Rikku's character is a relatively free spirited young woman, belonging to a relatively pragmatic, open minded and adventurous culture, the outfit actually fits her. Same thing with Paine, Yuna, and the rest of the game's dress spheres(no matter how horrendous I find them personally).Square Enix is against sexualy explicit content?
Nothing they ever released was ever at all slightly "Sexy" as people call it.
Of course I understand the irony of my position since I like a lot of the music in the game, which doesn't really fit the setting either, so take that with a grain of salt I guess.
SE in general is a big fan of the subligar and that thing is a glorified speedo. People are asking for clothes and armor that make your character look appealing it whatever way you want them to. What some of you consider slutty is seen differently in the eyes of the developers and differently to other players. I want both men and women armor/clothing (not all of it just some new stuff out there) to look stylish and maybe a little more provocative without going overboard. I am going to re-up my idea again I made earlier in the forums so you newcomers can see what I suggested. Quoting myself.
Personally I think city-state attire should vary, considering Ul'dah and LL and Gridania are different parts of the world there should be more variety and certain trend styles that fit each part of the world. Uldah should have desert attire ranging from the middle east style of dress to other desert type gear (Mad Max anyone. Talking about armor obviously but adding town gear would be nice too). LL would be Naval attire/ swashbuckling gear and Gridania well woods/forest gear. I think by incorporating the design based on region and culture of those areas would probably please everyone and add more options because it does kind of suck running around looking like everyone else all the time. Some diversity would be nice once in awhile.

Leeloo got her star-spangled subligar(diapers) today! She's good to go now...

My first response was to this was admittedly pretty rude.. it was something along the lines of if you want to look sexy do it in real life, if you want to look at something sexy...do it on your own time. On a more understanding note.. I am sure there are ton's of idea's floating around the team on new equipment right up your alley down the road, but is this really what is important to you right now? . . .

Agreed, guys should get the exact same separate but equal treatment.
Are you sure? Because looking at the back of my box, it says:
T
Alcohol Reference
Animated Blood
Language
SUGGESTIVE THEMES
Violence
Think of it like this. We are asking for armor more like that Miqo'te in the Ul'Dah quest series. Is she slutty? no. Is the gear sexier than the majority of player-accessible gear? Yes.
A little cleavage, some leg, and showing of the arms is not going to equate to porn. It's perfectly acceptable to show all of that in public, but somehow, when it's on a video game, it's porn.
Edit: Just saw this addressed.
Here's a picture of a video game character in ANOTHER SE game with a raiting on T.

That's not even what most of us are asking for, but to claim sexier outfits aren't allowed because of the rating is ridiculous.
