Your thoughts on the direction of this game?

This game has an huge potential but the dev are really really bad.
First thing, the playstation limitation : gcd, lag (the entire game is slowed)no open world, challenge except raid : 0.
The crafting are really cool, best i have seen in a mmo but the rest omg...
Materia but no slot on gear ? LOL? dev wake up? you make a good option and no use on it ? elemental resistance?
We don't play final fanatasy game but more world of warcraft and even not the original but the version for "worst than bad" player, should i say...
The graphic dev team is fantastic but the other, oh god, how they screw up this game to the grave.

I agree with time sink that so many people talked about.

I fixed it a bit and I don't think you know what lag mean.

GCD - to give controller players the same time as keyboard players (not limited to console)
no open world - the moment you left a city you are in the open world
(no) challenge except raid- casual limitation

Using a controller does not affect game play in any way shape or form. I have some friends that play on playstation and it takes them twice as long to load into any zone.

Tell them their HDD are to slow. It is much better with a SSD in the PS3

Actually, GCD is more to mimic WoW even more because other non WoW style MMOs with gamepad support has no GCD and XI/XIV 1.x didn't have GCD either. They said it in beta because the battle system at the time was fairly wonky. They wanted GCD mostly to prevent it from getting too 'spammy' even though it already ended up as such anyway.

Everyone keeps making that mistake, if you want WoW go play WoW, the game may have been inspired but people who think this is a clone refuses to accept that it's not.

Yoshida himself said it was essentially a WoW clone in order to give the Japanese market a taste of it because there's no official support. He said it because he views WoW as the 'standard way to design an MMO'. He made it no secret, so it's not that 'no one refuses to accept that it's not', the guy in charge of this game adamantly admits it is.
