I have one question. The famous Blizzcon, do they offer language translation for WoW Korea, WoW China, and WoW Taiwan? Do they? Blizzard is US based company and English is the official language. What is Square/Enix? This is now a big deal to you guys. Really?

I fail to see how what Blizzard does or doesn't do is relevant. I can agree that Blizzard should offer translations for significant markets.

If this is Japan only event, you wont even see any information on the English version. It is just going to be Japanese vocal with translated subtitles. What is your issue now? They must offerince English vocal?

I'm sorry, I think you might have misunderstood my post. If you read it again, you will find I responded to a poster's statement about why translations might not be used due to "risk". I am not sure where you found in my post that I think there would be no translation, said there would be no translation, or criticized SE for not having translation. I simply responded to the notion that translating a gaming feed was too risky.

If you did find something that says that English translation would be available, would you mind linking it? I wouldn't mind taking a look at it. If there is, then I might actually watch.

I'm sorry but this is just silly. I'm not that concerned about this event, but live translators are used by police, courts, the U.N... news stations... you name it. The "risk" of a small translation error on a video game live feed is laughable compared to all the places translators are used. I am not trying to insult you, so please don't take offense. I just think that for a multinational company that has a product that generates significant revenue from a geographic location that there is really no excuse to not have a translation available.

I must have missed something. When has SE ever provided Closed Caption for 1 of their events of this type. If you can show me 1 I will apologize. Even their reairing of Letters From the Producer are as is.

Well, let's just agree to disagree. The contract workers I have used for translation have not been bad at all. That assumes that this company doesn't have translators on staff (which would surprise the heck out of me). SE may or may not offer translation, but I will just rest with my contention that a multinational and publicly traded company with significant foreign markets should offer translation for those markets in a major marketing or publicity event.
