I feel like if it would have been posted on the JP only lodestone, someone like you would still be trying to complain about how we are left out and how it's not fair and blah blah blah pay attention to me.

Seriously, you are blowing a lot of this out of proportion. Sure, more interest in NA communications would be nice, but you saying you feel insulted that they left you out is just petty. There will be a translation, it just won't end up being live. As Hyperia mentioned it's rather difficult to do live translations, especially Japanese to English. Things just don't translate well enough.

The script you're talking about would be what the community team uses to populate the Q&A thread. It's likely that PR needs to approve any official translations. If you watched the E3 Letter you know how difficult it was having Ferne as an interpreter. That Letter probably took twice as long as it would have untranslated.

Its worth noting that patch 2.35 will also be occurring around that time, so they could always implement some sort of anniversary event to go along with the 2.35 tidbits.

That being said...eh, I honestly don't care about it being in Japanese. Are we missing out? Maybe, but not much really. Its always interesting to read the translations that surface on the interweb, seeing the members of the FFXIV community put in work for the benefit of everyone else.

OK cmon! The company is Japanese, its developers are Japanese so it makes sense its show will be in Japanese and in Japan! Even when they go to E3 they speak Japanese. Sure they carry their own translators but thats because its a world-famous show in an English speaking country that and they only really do a few presentations and interviews, not 14 hours worth. Its not very practical to spend the extra money and resources for a relatively tiny in-home event that pretty much only we (FFXIV players) know about, even if English players do outnumber Japanese.

Would be nice if they wouldnt take weeks to translate the highlights though....

I doubt us non Japanese speaking folks will be missing much, I'm guessing there will be lots of sunshine blowing, patting themselves on the back, we are so awesome things going on, and anything of importance, like say they reveal something coming up, will be translated somewhere and linked on the forums either right after the show, or right after it's announced.

it's the principe that i'm against, when you release a game for the world, advertising like a crazy for make it a succes around the world like they do. you don't leave a large part of the community out of the live event. it's rude for them... it's not like the E3, gamecon or other place, where people need to move. the live event can be followed by everybody. they need to be think for all the community not only a part. the fact that they are japanese are not a reason good enough, a good example is nintendo that take time to make communication in english for make sure everybody is touched.

Why does this even have to be live? How about a 10 minute delay to allow for Closed Captioning in the official languages? There are members of each Localization team working directly with the Devs. Why can they not do the translations? Anything would be better then feeling like an outcast neighbor allowed to look at your BBQ but not participate.

I have one question. The famous Blizzcon, do they offer language translation for WoW Korea, WoW China, and WoW Taiwan? Do they? Blizzard is US based company and English is the official language. What is Square/Enix? This is now a big deal to you guys. Really?

Secondary citizen? You know nothing about the meaning of it. All the events are in the United States, does this mean that we Canadian should rise up in arm?

The mmo market giant Blizzard doesnt even offer language support on their official fourm. It is always English Onry. Now they are losing most of asian subscriptions. 6.8M now, good radiance.

If they say it, its official but if a fan translates it, its unofficial and they do not have to worry about it as much because they could say something got lost in translation if they did not like the translation.
I'm sorry but this is just silly. I'm not that concerned about this event, but live translators are used by police, courts, the U.N... news stations... you name it. The "risk" of a small translation error on a video game live feed is laughable compared to all the places translators are used. I am not trying to insult you, so please don't take offense. I just think that for a multinational company that has a product that generates significant revenue from a geographic location that there is really no excuse to not have a translation available.

Blizzard has not made the concerted effort to go global that SE has. Blizzcon is directed directly to Americans. SE is directing its efforts to everyone. If they are going to do that then they need to accommodate everyone. They would have been better served if they went live to Japan and then aired it elsewhere with translations a day or so later with a explanation instead of allowing NA/EU subscribers feel like poor relations who are valued only for what's in their wallets
