^ Voice of Reason. There arent enough tones of white to accurately represent myself in fantasy form. DO something SE. JEBUS!
Is this another time when the "LGBT community" is allowed to go beyond what any average joe would requests?? - I think it is.
Is it safe to say SE wont be adding cross-gender dressing, besides the humorous kind - which people have already mentioned was breifly touched upon in XI. (beach wear on a galka anyone? *shudders*)
Sorry LGBT guys. Your "community" isn't as large as the rest of the general population and therefore may have to conceed the fact you'll have to bite your tongue and just put up with it. You know, like in most other aspects of you're alternate lives? Im sure there are games out there that let you cross dress and RP with other dudes and dudettes. But this isn't the place. At all.
Yes I may have responded reasonably to a total troll thread. Ohwell.
The sense of entitlement out of that particular "community" is a thing to behold.
Fun fact:
Most crossdressers are straight.
Edit:
There's a difference between "I SHOULD HAVE SOMETHING BECAUSE I'M SPECIAL!" and "STOP TREATING ME LIKE CRAP AND ALLOW ME TO LEAD A NORMAL LIFE WITH THE SAME RIGHTS AS EVERYONE ELSE! I JUST WANT TO GET MARRIED, RAISE KIDS, GO TO WORK WITHOUT BEING WORRIED OF HARASSMENT , VISIT MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER IN THE HOSPITAL, AND BE ABLE TO BE THE GENDER I WAS BORN AS! DAMMIT WHY MUST YOU MAKE THIS SO DIFFICULT!?"
Now then,
Can we stay on the topic?
Topic:
Cross Dressing/androgynous dressing.
Get on that.

Regardless of this being a troll thread or not, what I have quoted seems pretty offensive, and that's coming from a straight man. That's basically saying they have no rights whatsoever because they're a minority, and it's wrong to deny anyone any kind of rights because of that, I don't care what society you live in.Sorry LGBT guys. I never realized that access to transgendered clothing in a video game was a right.Regardless of this being a troll thread or not, what I have quoted seems pretty offensive, and that's coming from a straight man. Lots of oppressed people out there.
Kam's post is basically saying that the LGBT community have no say in anything to do with this game if it's something specifically for them because they're a minority. That's what I was referring to. I understand that Kam was talking specifically about cross-dressing, but there were two sentences in there that really sounded like she was telling them to shut up about anything that they want specifically for them. I guess I should picked out just those sentences in the quote instead of the whole paragraph....
I really think this thread should be locked. I don't think it's possible for this to not turn into a gigantic flame war.
arnt elven men already transgender?
on a serious note. yes im all for costumes and apparel.
holiday events gear yes please!!
btw someone brought up in another post. we need a event gear npc to hold our stuff like 11![]()
Like I said before, it's turning into another thread about wedding service that was locked because of this. Think they'll start banning people from the forums if this keeps up? O.o
You need a lesson or two in what context is.Kam's post is basically saying that the LGBT community have no say in anything to do with this game if it's something specifically for them because they're a minority. No I dont belive ANY community should have a specific say in what they want added for themselves.
SE will only view it the same way as me. They view us as "players". Nothing more individualistic than that. At all. When was the last time you had a questionnaire from SE asking your age, race, gender, orientation?
Never?
Thats 'cus they don't care - sexual preferance is not a vaild means to add anything to a game. Ever. (unless its one of them seedy ones I hinted at in my first "biased" reply)

I know it's difficult for you to grasp, so I'll try to be nice and spell it out in really easy terms: Average Joe doesn't need to request to be represented, since he already is. (That, for your information, is the sociological meaning of the word "average.") You cannot compare the needs of under-represented minorities or majorities with that of over-represented ones. Average Joe claiming for more representation is greedy, whereas the OP wants to feel more human than she/he feels within a set of structures that exclude him or ignore her. That is assuming he/she is not trolling. But even in that case, the theory stands.
On the other hand, I also remind his/her critics, that there are some within the LGBT community that lack the gender polarization most have, and some of them want to remain within this ambivalent, trans-gendered, non-polar state and identify themselves as transgendered as well.
