While I am not averse to getting a glimpse of the old Coerthas, I'm not expecting it.
Many of the quests in Coerthas deal with the climate, we even have Alphinaud wanting to leave as fast as possible because he isn't dressed for the weather.

But Snowcloak melting, or us breaking through it to get to Shiva, that is something that I do see happening.

That's true, I can see Central Coerthas staying as it is, but I'd like to see some of the old grass plains in perhaps some of the other areas (for example, The Howling Eye wasnt snow covered)

Well Coerthas is technically an out region for us similar to Mor Dhona where no one region (that the players are affliated to) claims it so I imagine we will start in a city state that will wind into that story line. Remember the only reason we went to Coerthas to deal with the heretics and the lady was due to a request meant for us but submitted to the Scions. So it is possible the next patch will be Gridiana centric start that falls into Coerthas like with defenders being Ul'dah centric and following into Mor Dhona.

It may expand to Coerthas Eastern Lowlands as Griffin's Crossing is an already-established point of interest of our map.

I thought I read an interview stating that Shiva's storyline would continue up through the 1st expansion. Am I mistaken?

We are almost sure that Shiva will be the close end of 2.x

Our man Yoshi P did mention Shiva's story is very complex... but now we have the Ascians in Ishgard to deal with, along with the eventual rise of Bahamut with Coils coming to a close.

I expect that has something to do with the fact that we were fighting inside of a giant tornado. At least that is what I tell myself.

It would be nice if we could get past Griffin's Crossing and/or Snowcloak and see what became of the area's there. Looking at the map, there is another Vigil in the western highlands. I am very curious what became of that, since it is essentially an Ishgardian outpost. I'm wondering whether it got cut-off completely or that they still have a way to reach to city.

Just to note when you fly to the Howling Eye during the MSQ the lobby area is also green and lush (well, looks like it was ripped straight out of 1.0 anyways). That again could be chalked up to the "tornadoes turn snow green" magic too though :P

There should be another 2 Vigils actually, the Dusk and Dawn Vigils should still exist? I don't recall any mention of them in 2.0, but they existed the same as Steel and Stone did in 1.0. Also the fact the Ishgardians use Airships in Stone Vigil (Hard) make me question how "cut-off" western Coerthas really is.

I'm starting to suspect that the Falcon's nest will be the battle ground of the primal battle, like the howling eye or the striking tree, ect
