Why are people acting like the crafting classes won't still be repairing your gear just because the materials are generic? I'm pretty sure clothcrafters will still repair cloth gear, armorers metal gear etc...

They will never get rid of durability. It's about the only gil sink in the game.

think about it! if it something in real life... you can't wear that Armani suit because you're too low

You can't wear a police uniform around town if you aren't actually one either, and the price for an armani suit is enough of a barrier to entry that any "noob" can't just wear one.

yes, you can't wear a police uniform if you're not a cop. that's why they should have class specific gears

but if your rich friend gave you an Armani suit then you have the right to wear it even if you're poor and noob

Right now I am extremely disappointed with SE repairing repair decision. It is obviously SE did not do proper research and do not understand what most players want.

While of course you know perfectly what "most players" want, right?

The new repairs system is easy, convenient, and still promotes interaction between adventurers and crafters.

Lack of level/class restriction on a large variety of gear is fine, as it lets people chose their look, instead of having everyone in the same class/level range wear the same crap, which looks horrendous.

I always find it massively funny how some people think they can talk for "most players" or "the community".

Well in truth there would be social consequences to wearing attire that did not fit your status in society. Would you be arrested and put in jail or shot over it? Well in most cases no probably not. There would be repercussions though.

Or in game-terms, you wouldn't be accepted to do group content because wearing gear too high for your level gimps you. That's the repercussion. On the other hand wearing the gear that doesn't fit is better than wearing nothing at all (pants come to mind!)

New system is only to dont have lots of diferents items to repair, not to fix it like u want. And of course, if u use a machine and u dont know how to use it, probably u will broke it faster than someone who know how to use it.
