WHY ARE YOU PLAYING A BARD IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO SING?!

Problem was trying to make archer become bard in the first place. If it was obv. a DD class with no support abilities as a class itself, then it should have become a Ranger not a Bard. So you force people who choose ARC as a beginning class cause shooting bows is cool, then half way through tell them they are a support class. The fact BRD's LB is a healer LB makes it more ridiculous.

Marauder kind of starts the same way until 15, at least for gladiator the class quests let you know you ARE a tank and even teach you about flash, but marauder? Every single quest treats you as a dps class until you do the first dungeon.

I wonder if bard was truly a pure DPS why don't they have a DPS LB. Some people want to play in ignorance fine. But hopefully not everyone is that bad of a bard. I feel like this thread got trolled really hard. I feel silly for feeding it :/

I have no idea why this thread is continuing for this long. The amount of butthurt here is unfathomably through the roof.

The thread is targeted at a few players that play bard but don't know when to use songs. It doesn't imply that all bards are bad.
There are tons of threads regarding bad experiences with WHMs, PLDs or other healers and tanks. But that doesn't mean all WHMs or PLDs are bad either. In fact, in those threads, people don't get all butthurt like in this thread.
If there is a thread that complains of tanks that don't use flash, you don't see the tanks raging. Because it's just targeted at a few specific players that don't know how to play the class.
If you see a thread complaining about Scholars that don't shield pre-emptively, you don't see all the Scholars raging either.

So, my question to the Bards raging in this thread is, "Why so mad?".

Well, that's the question? They queue as DD yet have a Healer LB. It's broken kinda due to such rigidity.

Not really. That's basically what you call a support role, no matter how much Bards will hate the term. Yet it's because of their, I'm a DD only, mentality that preventable wipes happen. If they managed their songs better and realize that maybe using the LB3 instead of a healer that it would be much better all around. Yet they are bards that would rather ignore a large portion of their toolkit for the sake of a childish statement.

Sure, but it sounds like the support role was haphazardly plopped on. Heck "support" isn't a valid role in the trinity. I agree especially since it's a shame that it's currently the only range physical DD until the gunner class is released or they make a secondary job for archer. Yet in the long run it wont be the only job of its kind so it's better to get used to it now so those that decide to play class/job that plays like the current Bard, per se Dancer. Those player don't go around doing the same thing Bards currently do that don't want to use their full kit.
