A Realm Reborn 2.0 Timeline

Aye, I figured in regards to real life, what we as players experience takes place in time with when it actually happens IRL, but...what about in regards to our characters? How long aside from the 5 years we know about did this Umbral last, in regards to actually Eorzea time. When the Seventh Astral Era is declared at the end of the 2.0 story, does she actually give a date and time? Is there any in game calendar anywhere we can reference for a year? Obviously time is passing in Eorzea, because we've seen new buildings to areas added and the like...so...*invisible beard stroke*

What about in regards to our characters?

As far as I know, a very important clause to start this sentence with, it's meant to be oversimplified and just relies on the word "throughout." Version one took place throughout the year 1572 of the Sixth Astral Era. Then, the Calamity happened and the Seventh Umbral Era began at Year 1. Five years later, we start version two, which takes place throughout Year 5 of the Seventh Umbral Era, also known as Year 1 of the Seventh Astral Era depending on what side of the defeat of the Black Wolf you're on.

As for the difference between the player's (re)arrival in Eorzea and the initiation of Operation Archon, or the fall of the Black Wolf and the establishment of the Crystal Braves, I don't think there's meant to be any set time period. We might get a tidbit of "haven't heard from X in a few days" or "Y has been gone for weeks" or "a few months since Z," and if enough of those show up you might get a rough estimate of it, but for the sake of our scenario writers, I just stop at "throughout the current year," lol.
