The Crew beta was 15gb and that isn't even the full game. Petition your ISP for a better bandwidth limit because 10gb is nothing. Yeah, it sucks, but store bought games get more and more phased out every year in favor of digital downloads and possibly streaming in the future.

I think you can do a fresh install, then copy a friend's ffxiv folder into your comp and overwrite your freshly installed files.

I can't understand why SE didn't update client after each major patch.
Like SE allow us to play lower version.

Name three major MMO releases that update the client after every major patch. Or, really, at all within their first year of launch. Three! (One might be too easy, so I'm asking for a trend of them and not just one outlier that can afford the development time and money to support this idea.)

Confirmed as i had no choice BUT to do that with another PC i had that can't play this game, i simply installed it fully on that one then USB the files over to the playing PC, worked perfectly, otherwise they STILL have not fixed this launcher issue.

I can list about 10 mmo where the updates may be alot, but aint nowhere near 10 gb.

As a final note; limiting your customers to those with the 'best pc' (mine is WAY beyond solid for this) and 'best connections' (my ping is 25ms but I have limits on how much i can download... and my limits are ALOT higher than alot- and i pay for it)

Such a policy going to limit just who can or even want to sign up for the service. The defense of pretty limited tech policy... dont make you anybodys hero

Actually, 2.# is pretty relaxed in requirements on system and connection. 1.# was a cow, only cutting edge computers could handle it and if you had anything less than DSL you were going to have suffer unconscionable lag in everything, including the UI. Yes, including the UI.

And I can name a PS3 title that required me to do an 18gb patch.

And I've never played an MMO that is a year old, with no expansions NOT have a 10-19gb patch from a fresh install. Heck the other day I had to do a 12gb update for WoW because I hadn't played it for awhile.
