Wow...
This really saddens me, not much else to say
<cool FFXIV image here>
I actually don't get the new repair system. What was wrong with the current one that made them think "hey guys let's change stuff no one complains about and the things they do complain about we'll fix later".
I'm not a troll I'm just the voice of truth :P
I dont understand how can you post something like this. Are you joking? Have you read any of the posts made pro and against the change?....
If you have not, then please, read at least the first two or three pages...
Now they need to let us put up equiped gear for repairs, and repairs to those pieces of equipment should be possible as long as we stay in passive mode during the repair process.

Not sure how I feel about it exactly, but I honestly can't think of anything I would dislike about it.
As long as you still need to be the proper class and level to do the repairs, and so not just anyone could repair a level 50 (equip - they would need to have the levels themselves or get someone else to repair it), then I don't see anything bad about this system.
Less materials carried around doesn't seem like a bad thing, and it wouldn't break immersion either. In a fantasy world something called "dark matter" could probably do just about anything.

Heh thats a crazy question to ask really. What the players want always changes. The people who wanted it to change from the beginning probably dont want it changed now, or the type of change they wanted changed. I believe generally the payers didnt like how they needed to have all kinds of repair mats availiable, and it took a lot of inventory space. The dev team has just fixed that. and Dark Matter is a very good name for it, seeing as how dark matter can be used for anything.
I just posted about Dark matter in another thread its shocking to me that FF fans are acting like they never seen this item in FF before.....cause it has always done an array of things.Not sure how I feel about it exactly, but I honestly can't think of anything I would dislike about it.

this would be fine with me. as long as the materials people have already don't become wasted space and can be used i would be fine with the instant change. something like this is all i was asking for. thank you for taking a second and coming up with a possible solution instead of the blind bash because someone doesn't agree.Did you even think for a SECOND, that they might turn all your so hardly crafted and now going to waste materials into the dark matter corresponding to that rank range? Like Cavnas Fents turning into Dark Matter for R 21-30...
Just as an example...they also announced that recipes will be redone(although they said 1.19 before, the repair post indicates there will be changes in 1.18 already) so what if your wasted materials get a use after the patch?
Just think...
the only reason i rail against it instead of thinking for them is we have all seen what happens when we try to think of something that would logically fit and se throws the curve and put in something that makes no sense at all. if your idea was put in place though it would be great for the people already doing repairs in the short term and the change to dark matter would be better in the long run. both sides could then be happy and nobody feels left out.
