Will we, as white mages, be able to put on the hood at some point?

I don't see why it couldn't just act like a cowl, but hide whatever is on your head to prevent clipping.

It makes me extra sad that we can't because back in 1.0 when they teased AF there was a concept art image of the hood being flipped up.

The only reason I wouldn't want any more hooded robes is because they always hide your hair. The WHM hood would look pretty cool given how they'd do it. But in order to prevent the clipping you'd get that weird headband on your forehead as usual which, at least to me, just looks extremely silly. There's a way to get around it of course, but it would require a fair bit of redesigning which SE wouldn't want to put time in I'm sure; variations of the hairstyles that only show up if you're wearing a hood.

There is of course AF2 that'll come in the expansion though (most likely, seems too major to just throw it in a patch), perhaps that'll be a nice surprise.

as long as the hood doesn't look like most of the recent gear then I say its a great idea and I hope it arrives one day!

sadly most current gear is...you know laughable clown gear. im somewhat worried about their current armor designers. most are just "ok" and the rest are....embarrassing to say the least.

Because every job quests give you 5 AF pieces.
With a hood, WHM would only get 4 AF pieces, give them a disadvantage (less gear rewards from the job quests).

Hopefully they'll add this feature with the upcoming AF2 /visor command

IIRC, Yoshida did say they would look into the visor command working on hoods for future sets, but preexisting sets couldn't be changed.

I wasn't asking for a cowl, I was saying that it could behave like a cowl, in that it would hide the headpiece like a cowl hides the hair.
