Why do people do Odin?

Some people play for loot, they don't do anything that doesn't give them a gear upgrade. I have 18 mantles sitting in my retainer's inventory and I still go to that fight, why? Because it's fun!

Why do you we even play this game? or any games for that matter.. oh yea, for Enjoyment, Not everyone does things for "what i can get out of it" i personaly like Odin as i have in all previous FFs he has been in (13 is not a real Odin....) i go just to see the Dark Rider. even tho i have 0 use for of any of his items.

Odin is basically a S-Rank Hunt mob as far as his timer goes. But he gives no hunt marks! His mantles are cool until you have all the stuff. Dark Divinity Falleth don't sell for much on my server so I really have no use for his mantles...

Even so, if he's up, I'll look for him to fight. Grand company seals ftw! It's also fun to look at all the dead people. /creepyface

Maybe it's also because some people want to be Odin when he spawns again?

Something that I never actually knew before a month or so ago was that whoever deals the killing blow to Odin will determine Odin's race and will be marked with his killer's name the next time he spawns. So for example, if I killed Odin he would not only be represented as a Miqo'te the next time he spawns, but you'll also see a subtitle that says "Skara Brae" on his name.

You can't even see Odin half the time.. :/

That's why I made the topic! Everyone looks at me weird when I say no to fighting Odin. My FPS is a solid 15 FPS when I fight him, I can't even see Odin half the time due to all the explosions around him. Next thing I know I'm dead on the ground due to an aoe I can't really avoid. And 20 people are shouting "Rez".

Maybe Odin is just not for me. I find logging oak wood more enjoyable.

It's rare for most people. I've played for a year now and only seen him maybe 10 times.
