Housing Ideas and Feature Requests

When are we getting the guestbook feature? It seems to be in the housing menu but we're unable to use it. I'd love to open up my house for guests to come in if guestbooks were implemented

We’re currently looking into adding a guest book as a furnishing item for the future so that visitors can leave a comment. However, as there are other tasks at the moment that have higher priority, the details have not yet been finalized.

Such a horrible idea. We all know how good comment systems work in real life (google, facebook, etc). Why would we want to have a book where players could leave comments about us and our rooms or house in game? The dev team doesn't have enough time or resources available to keep a system like this to be "healthy". Please rethink this and put efforts into other things housing related.

it is optional, however I do agree with the rude thing in the game

I don't know about anyone else, but for me, there are quite a few dungeons where I turn up the music. For example, Tam Tara Deepcroft, and The Lost City of Amdapor. I think it would be rather awesome if a furnishing could be implemented where we can attune the music playing in our private chambers, to the music playing in these dungeons. I could go a step further and suggest that sheet music be implemented as a rare drop from dungeons in order to play this music, but I know that would be harder to implement.

Either way, I'd love to be able to set the mood of my private chambers to fit -me-!

Keep it healthy yourself, or don't use the feature. Why is it a "horrible" idea, because you think that people are going to pay for this game just to write bad things in your guestbook? If people really are going to write bad things in your guestbook a lot, maybe you should report them for harassment or disable the feature. Some people I'm sure would like the idea, myself included.

1) You would be surprised what people will spend money on, simply to grief others on the internet.
2) A system to "keep it healthy yourself" would be a LOT of development work with abilities to moderate your guestbook. This dev time could easily be better utilized with something else for housing.

So, what part of the dev post did you not understand? Was it the part where he said that other tasks have a higher priority at the moment? So it's not coming out soon?

Also keeping it healthy yourself probably isn't that hard. You could probably just, I dunno, not have one?

There was another (I guess confusing) part of the dev post advising this is a furnishing. So you'd have to make one. And place it. Manually. Yourself. Unless you no-more-nails that thing to the floor, I guess you can remove it too if it's too much trouble

How about... I don't know... not having a guestbook in your room? Seems like a radical idea, I'm sure, but it might just be effective at keeping the toxic comments away.

We're always receiving responses as of why such and such thing can't be implemented because of server space, so I really hope that other kind of QoL features (like a FC calendar or a longer FC message, among other things) are really implemented before this, as you seem to imply.
