This is an obvious improvement to me. I'm surprised that so many people enjoy the current system, it's pointlessly complicated and, like many have said before me, will free up tons of wasted inventory space and give gatherers more of a role than they currently have. And lul to the people that are complaining that "dark matter" doesn't fit the game. Dark matter is a recurring item in the FF series and you guys must've forgotten that we use "crystals" to craft things to begin with. Things can have a fantasy element to them, it doesn't have to be wood item > repair with wood.

I dont know what I want, I just want people to not joke around and die because dying and armor damage is SRS business. If its made simplier to repair then the cost for "dark matter" should be high. So its actually painful in a way to have to repair but easy at the same time...

no the only thing i felt would have been right was to allow people to use either/or that way they could dispose of the materials they had and have the option for the other way with the change. moving to it gradually would work, but the drastic switch would suck for people with the mats already. that's my only complaint is that it becomes wasted mats where at least gradually moving would allow people to use their old mats first.

They need to quit throwing out the baby with the bathwater. There was zero need for this dark matter nonsense. Just give us a separate inventory tab (that doesn't count toward our inv total) for Reagents, which includes repair materials. Problem solved, the repair system's main problem is fixed without the need to water it down like they're currently doing.

Anyone who isn't bright enough to notice we are beta testing FFXIV deserves 'the suck' of having game systems suddenly change under their feet.

SE asked the community how they felt about deep changes and the majority said «yes, please».

Unfortunately this is true. ><; Drastic change suck, especially if the change itself sucks balls.

The change does not suck, what sucks is that some players chose to play an unfinished game knowing it would change drastically and are now complaining about all the hard work they invested is going down the drain. Good riddance overly complicated repair system.

There is nothing you can do about it. Deal with it.

No, you can not complain about something that has not been implemented yet. try it first, then indicate whats wrong with it.

Better to treat it like the extended beta it is and not get too attached to anything the way it's been. Easier said than done of course. Especially with some of the time & effort put in. But you kinda have to treat stuff like that in this situation.

oh i am sooooo sorry i thought i bought a retail version of the game not a beta. ya know, the very same retail version they are still selling in stores.

yes, i voted for major changes just as well as most people did, but changes in what you wanted and changes of what i wanted are very different. i must have missed the question about did we want materia used for repairs. can you please show me the question in which this was asked and the response of the players in the players poll in which people actually had to sign into the game to vote?
