Suggestion: inactive players

There are many inactive players who have quit playing FFXIV that post a lot of negative stuff about it. I would suggest turning off inactive players forum access until the subscribe again. This would cut down on a lot of the negative and problematic topics being posted.

I totally agree - it would stop a lot of the troll threads from appearing that have been happening lately. The 1.0 forum had that feature, as did the FFXI Linkshell Community forum. The only reason I can think why the ARR forum doesn't have this feature is to allow players who have had a problem occur with their subscription can post requests from the Community Team for assistance, but other than that, it's a double-edged sword that has only fostered a lot of negative threads being posted by certain people who no longer subscribe and who only want to cause trouble for those who continue playing.

Maybe have the forum restricted that if your subscription has lapsed, then you can only post in the technical support and bug report forums and no other section, to try and put a stop to this negativity.

Honestly I'd just rather more active moderating...or at least moderating that didn't cater so much to bad posters. What you propose would also stop people looking to come back from asking things.

Inactive players never had access to the forums. The ones who are moaning about things and say they "quit" over this are still very much active and playing.

I actually had questions when i was inactive and would have loved to login, but it will flatout deny you access.

Rather than blocking out players entirely, i would rather see access is eased a little and inactive accounts be granted access just the same as regular folk. The people who arent playing now arent the problem. Those who have no interest in the game dont come here, and those with questions do want to come here but cannot. The majority of "trolls" we have here are truly active players, i can assure you of that... as sad as it may be.

You should turn off Forum Access to players which read something negative in a Forum and build their opinion on this...

When everyone listenes to anything posted in an MMO Forum, no one would play that MMO...
