
If you know anything about US home internet connections at all, you wouldn't even think about making that statement. They're some of the worst in the world. Hell, most Europeans get a cleaner connection to North American that most Americans.

I'm been in competitive gaming since Quake test in '96. Trust me, after years of trying to arrange fair server match ups, most Americans don't have a good home connection. Cable providers in the US are over-subscribed, use out of date hardware with high failure rates, and prioritize the wrong kinds of traffic for internet gaming performance to be reliable. The existence so 'broadband' at all is debatable in many cities, as max available speeds are regularly below a 1mb/s, let alone 1gb/s.
