Yeah, it was. I see a lot of people complaining about this who often turn out to be playing on saturated wifi connections. Tell them to plug an rj45 cable in, and suddenly their problems go away.
Boils down to either a lot of jitter on your line between you and Square, then, or just plain or poor reaction time. As I've said before, I'm playing on the Canadian rack from Hong Kong, and if a middling thirty year old with arthritis can dodge landslide, I'm sure you can
