That being said, I find comfort zone very useful and that alone was worth leveling up alchemy.
I found that I had more than enough water shards by simply doing the class quests. But I leveled purely doing HQ quest leve turn ins, not by mass production of goods or by crafting goods to sell.

Unless alchemy's cross skills are incredibly useful to leveling up the other two crafts? I'm also running out of leve allowances and going to fall to the default 6/day.

Also, as far as gearing is concerned, would the grand company issued sets be enough to carry on when you get them at level 25? Though I am going to be swapping out the tools as I get to it.
I would get everything to 15 first. It's pretty quick and all the materials are sold very cheaply at vendors next to the guild. This gives you a nice suite of abilities to use when you level any class.

You don't necessarily need the rest of Alchemy for leveling, but you'll want Comfort Zone if you plan on trying to HQ any 3* items. If that's your goal, you will want it eventually.

Levequests always seem like the way to go, the problem is the amount you have. I'm down to 21 leves and they get eaten up like nothing for crafting leves. Though since my Weaving is already 18, I think I'm gonna work on that first and get it up to 50.

I also thought about getting my other crafts up to at least level 10. If anything, that'll give them potential to do HQ turn ins.

Yea, that is a pain when you're leveling crafting and you don't have leves to spare. I would wait till I had 40-50 or so before starting a new craft, just concentrate on battle classes or whatever until I had the leves to spare. However, I was able to reach 15 on every craft by eating some cheap food, sitting next to the guild material vendor, and just making everything from my log. No leves required.
