If your thought process is "I know there's probably a lot of people that are on the way to this, but screw them I want this for myself" Then yes, I see nothing wrong with selfish behaviour being punished.
Uh I don't think that is selfish at all, unless the big group was the one who found the elite in the first place, people can share if they want to, if you try to force it that's no longer sharing.
If a small group of people managed to get the A to half before a well coordinated TS/LS notices it says a lot about the effort your members are putting.
Anyways, sharing is cool, but doing the hunts as they were originally intended to be done is also cool.
I'd call it more selfish you wanting full credit on an elite you didn't find.
now ur just assuming thats what ppl are doin but have yet to see that this is how these big ls grps d things, yall are the most selfish of all, on plenty of occasions i have seen yall not post steal the agrro and reset it and attack before everone even gets there so no ur look at selfishness goes both ways. now mayb not all ur ls grps are not a-holes but aot of em are
I wonder, if 2000+ players trying to get full credit... you cant even see dead members or the monster...
I guess it is just a problem on my server!
when it get resets ur progression on it resets as well and if u got a big ass ls grp tht reset it it will die in a mater of seconds so no u wont have time to get enought hits on it
I have to disagree.
While saying it "isn't fair" isn't the right choice of words, it's in no way a requirement to let the entire server build up before each and every hunt mob.
even with hp boost if there are 30+ there then hp boost doesnt mean jack squatPretty much this. There's something terribly wrong if a full party can see it and attack it and NOT get full credit. You also didn't specify how many friends were with you so that would certainly be a factor if it was any less. There could have also been THAT many people swarming the thing, but even still that's odd with the HP boost to A ranks. Sorry about your luck, regardless OP.
Simple, it goes against the intended design of Hunts. It should be noted to anyone not on Excalibur, we have a teamspeak where everyone co-ordinates, gathers together, and decides a time to pull so everyone can get maximum credit. Anyone can join, there's really no restriction barring your party leader having a mic.
It has become the accepted way of how Excalibur does hunts, allowing the majority to get full credit by waiting and pulling in unison.
Pulling as a small group just meant they'd screwed over a lot of people from getting credit, which imo is kind of selfish. Clearly the tank was trying to reset so more of the group to get credit. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
While on one hand it's awesome that the entire server is able to attempt to get together and coordinate their efforts to ensure maximum credit is shared amongst the many, it really isn't intended for the entire server to rush to and get a hit in on a mob that can be soloed or low manned to begin with (Rank A and B mobs). Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing effort put forth by the community and a large step in player organization to get this done, but lets not pretend its being done out of pure altruism.
In fact it's a much more selfish approach to feel the community claims some form of collective ownership over credit for hunt mobs when a small party of players are now basically robbed of the experience of what were designed to be and could have been fleshed out as an opportunity for some sort of challenging open world content, something this game is desperately lacking (and the request that led to hunts to begin with).
The current Excalibur system works for Hunts to a degree, but based on the description and the info given to us as to what the intended design for Hunts was it's very, very far from the mark from what they were promoted to be and systems like this are more detrimental to this sort of content being added in the long run. I've been to plenty of the Hunts myself as it becomes as server lag-fest of hundreds of names and effects going off on a mob that is constantly popping in and out of existence.
There is no functional game play experience when it comes to Hunts now, they have simply boiled down to: Wait for shout / TS call -> Run to X spot -> Pull at X time -> Flash the mark Piñata -> Receive Marks -> Repeat.
While effective in farming marks this sort of thing gets very old very quickly IMO.
On an added note lets not act like things are happy go lucky community effort on Excalibur either, I've still seen the /shout-box blow up with rage over early pulls, resets, etc on pretty much every S Rank pop.

Our server Excalibur has a large group of entitles who think all of the hunt mobs are theirs. I had to quit doing hunts all together because of this group's vitriolic negativity towards anyone who even accidentally pulls.
If you think they intended for a group to shout and wait for 100 people from the zone to come kill a rank B mob, or even A, when they created hunts you really need to re-evaluate your thought process.
What is fair is that the party that found it fights it and kills it. Not that they shout and wait for the mob and risk not getting any credit (or partial credit). If others come they do. That was how it was explained before it was released and that was the intention of system in the first place before everyone decided to over-camp the hell out of it because it's rewards render almost everything else useless. If people want to call it out, great, I hope they do and in general when I do hunt parties we do call it out. But given what happens, I do not blame them for fighting it when they discover it, and find nothing unfair about it.
